Pick another day, where restaurants won't be packed, prices for everything from chocolate to flowers won't be inflated for no actual reason, and on that just as arbitrary day you pick, buy your loving companion 3-5X as many flowers, chocolates, or steaks/lobsters as you would have on Valentines day, and celebrate for the same reason.
