Bmr31
I know this place stands for letting everyone share their thoughts, and no one being banned, if there ever was a candidate for removal, it would be him. Oh dont worry about that. Its little kid morons like you who dont have the first clue about baseball, that chase all the good members away. Im among others who get tired of having to sift through 100 little kid posts to get to decent ones. Props to Rex, yasny, all the mods, hsc, heather, cubkilla, clujer, capn, and so on. I just dont have the patience to deal with crap like people asking what place we are in and having no clue whats going on and fighting and this one that im responding to. I love Soxtalk and ill probably be back but when i do come back i sure hope we get more than a few intelligent members here. Its ruining the board. CWSOX45
MY only response is some of the knowledgable, longer term members have stopped posting completely or limited their posting because there is just too much ignorance on this site. We got little kids fighting, we got fans asking what place we are in, we got people responding to baseball discussions who OBVIOUSLY know little about the game. There is just too much ignorance and i will quote clujer, who no longer posts here......"95 percent of the crap posted there is just that crap, and the 5 percent of good posts arent worth searching for. Im starting to agree with him. Last time I checked this was a web site that everyone has access to. Who cares if some people on here don't know anything about baseball. As long as they're Sox fans I could care less. Some young posters actually log onto these boards to get perspective from knowledgeable fans. It's a good way for them to learn more about baseball. I have made several posts on these messageboards that may have been questioned. However, I am not afraid to voice my opinion even if many consider me ignorant or too young to know anything about the game of baseball. I'm here for one simple reason, and one simple reason alone. I love the White Sox. These messageboards give me the opportunity to talk to those who love them as much or more than I do. I don't care if 95% of these threads and posts are useless crap by ignorant people. If a die hard Sox fan posts anything on these forums, I will read it. You were once young too BMR, you may consider some member's posts ignorant when in reality they're just trying to learn more about the game. elrockinMT
ElRocknMT - we are contemporaries. I was just talking about 1967 today. Still hurts. I'm enjoying the team, the ups and downs. I think if a person can't stomach a lot of frustration, they should think about a different sport, cause baseball will just hand it to you over and over. Unless you have a magic year, and this could still be one of those. It's a big week, and we gotta let it roll. Royals just lost game one. And you have a great site name. I loved Al Lopez and if I am correct Ray Berres was the pitching coach, Tony Cuccinelo and Don Gutteridege were there too. Baseball is the most frustrating, but loveable sport there is in my opinion. You start in the early Spring and follow the ups and downs and ups and downs of you favorite team all the way till the Fall. Then you wait for Spring Training where hope springs eternal. You just keep coming back for more-what could be better? The line that James Earl Jones said during the Field of Dreams movie always comes to my mind, " Baseball has been the one constant in our lives." Waxing the philosophical a bit I must admit. cwsox
I agree with this completely. ....except Ludacris is a rapper! and perhaps I alone here of all the posters at soxtalk have seen Ludacris live! No one at soxtalk is going to get banned for opinions. Not the soxtalk way.
Texsox
It never ceases to amaze me when some 30 year old cries the blues about how long they've suffered being a fan of the White Sox. When you're a fan of 50 years, then let's talk. Evidently 30 years wasn't enough to learn anything about baseball. This team can win the division, and win it all, the World Series, but anyone who thinks this team has more talent than anyone in their division, in their league or in baseball today knows nothing of the game. They're not in the top 10 White Sox teams of the last 30 years either. This isn't fantasy baseball, and the games are not played on paper. The team, as any team, is only as good as they actually play. Underperform? Unlikely. Mismanaged? Absolutely not. They're in first place in spite of themselves because they are managed. Anyone who knows anything about baseball at all can see that even the Yankees are not dominating this season. You are witnessing a rarity in baseball, something that has a football term, 'Parity'. Of the 30 MLB teams in existance, a full 12 are in a division race with 3 weeks to go in the season. That's 12 markets, 12 television outlets, 12 regions from coast to coast, border to border. The race in our division is a classic as we've not seen since the two 8 team leagues, long before you were even a thought, long before your selfish, impatient being graced us with your inane demands. It is exciting, edge of the seat, nail biting baseball at it's best, with changes in the standings every day, and due to your whining about how terribly you have suffered, you're missing it all. The one with no f***ing clue is you. 30+ years and still cheering as though you are 5. Try growing up. Since I usually jump in and disagree with the good man ncorgble I feel the need to give him a . I just changed my attitude of waiting for the sky to fall to enjoying this season. For most of my 35 years following this team, the season stretched from the end of basketball season to the start of football. This year I was into it from before spring training and we're fighting it out in Spetember when we could have folded the tent, waved the white flag, and began the restructuring process. No room for negativity, let's go and win the damn thing any way we can, while cheering to the end. BTW I like the really stupid opinions and b.s. that gets posted here. Makes some of my drivel actually sound intelligent. I'd have to leave if everbody else who was posting was intelligent, articulate, and knowledgable regarding baseball
winninguglyin83
As somebody who has been a die-hard Sox fan since the days of Aparicio, Fox, Wynn, Smith, Landis and all those dudes, all I can say is enjoy the ride. the next three weeks are going to be nerve-wracking -- but fun. No guarantees this team will win -- or lose. But at least they are playing for something. I can think of too many seasons -- like last year and the year before -- when all the drama and fun was drained from the race by June 15. Do I think this team should be at least five games ahead? You bet. But it's not. So let's make the best of the final 21 games -- Cleve, 4 with Minny, three at Boston, three at Minny, three with KC, three with NYY and four at KC. And enjoy Esty, Maggs, Konerko and the rest while they are here. That's what I plan to do -- starting with watching how Danny Wright delivers today. JUGGERNAUT
You guys never seem to be on when I post Frustration is : Jerry Manuel - factored in 3 of the last 4 SOX losses. Big time. sCrUBs - they are scoring so many runs right now that they're making it look easy. WhiteSox - Without R Alomar there are no fundamental MLB players. Now why can't I fault the coaching & the org on this? Twinkies - Radke in particular. He suddenly can't lose any more. Thomas - In yet another slump since the BOSOX. Koney's carrying us right now. Sully - WTF? Schow - worse than Koch KW - Koch. Say no more. Offense - that still makes it easy to shutout the SOX Defense - for every good catch Carl makes, he makes a bad play Running - Slow poke mjoke Koney still tries to stretch a single into a double. Hope : We hit a lot of homeruns & have 4 quality starters. That can go a long way. Bmr, chill. The best way to entertain good baseball discussions is too start one I post here because it feels like home. There's a spirit here that makes us all feel like home boys. I feel like a visitor at WSI & ESPN is just not worth mentioning. Mods & admins: I love the icons! :fthecubs :sosasucks on the Southside ! JUGGERNAUT
If I may say one thing else: Managing a mid-rev team like the SOX is like playing poker with the high rollers. You can't win with just a decent hand & a lot of $$$, so you have to be adept at bluffing & of course know when to hold & fold. I think KW has done a good job staying in the game this year. It's remarkable considering the Koch debacle. That's like losing 1/2 your $$$ on your 1st hand with the contract he worked. But then he's come back to land Everett & Robbie who both have made major contributions. He's he going to win this game of poker? Who knows. There are 2 high rollers left, 1 with more $$ than KW, & 2 very adept experienced players. But it's fun watching him play so far. As I write this El Cabello just accomplished a SAC FLY to tie the gm 2-2. YESSSSSSSS !!!!!!! I want to personally thank the best color man in the business : Hawk. His SOX lingo has really elevated the FUN & EXCITEMENT of the SOX! When you hear the ESPNers try to copy it .. it leaves your ROTFLYAO. He's accomplished something that .. well is just plain fun. The WWE lives & strives on color. But they make it ridiculous at times. Hawk makes it fun. Plain & simple. <- sometimes these guys do as well.
