Jose Abreu
QUOTE (raBBit @ Feb 17, 2015 -> 04:19 PM) In the minors Rodon had #41, which is currently held by Javy Guerra. No one wears Rodon's college number of #16. Isn't it retired?
flavum
QUOTE (raBBit @ Feb 17, 2015 -> 04:19 PM) In the minors Rodon had #41, which is currently held by Javy Guerra. No one wears Rodon's college number of #16. I think Rodon had a different number at every stop last year, so I doubt 41 means anything to him. 16 is retired so he won't be getting that. Maybe 46 once Penny gets let go. That seems to fit. 24 is unclaimed. Maybe Campana would have had that. ChiliIrishHammock24
It's funny because baseball is BY FAR my favorite sport, but I know the numbers of my Blackhawks players much better and maybe even my Cowboys players. You don't spend much time in baseball guessing who a player is based on his jersey number, because players rarely come in to contact with each other in a group. Just as a random exercise that benefits no one, I'll attempt to type out our line-ups numbers.... Eaton - 1, Alexei - 10, Melky...33?, Abreu - 79 (took me a while to remember), LaRoche - 25 (no idea why I know that), Avi - 26?, Micah - 7, Gillaspie - 12 (I think), Flowers - 17?, Bonafacio - 38?, Sale - 49, Danks - 50, Q - 28?, Shark - 29, Noesi - 38?, Jones - 45? Petricka - 43? Putnam - 58? EDIT: Okay, I guess I did better than I thought I would. Edited February 18, 2015 by Chilihead90

Yeah he's going to go down as the best player ever to wear that number, so there's that for him to look forward to

CWSpalehoseCWS
Kind of surprised Rodon got such a high number. I had zero expectations that he would break camp with the team, but I thought he's at least get a somewhat lower number than they gave him. Must be because he's not on the 40.
