sammy esposito
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 24, 2015 -> 11:35 AM) That's good news. 2014 preseason there was talk of Nate being our closer. all those hopes were dashed early I hope he can return to his former pitching form. He would be a great asset later in the season to the '15 sox.
Quin
QUOTE (sammy esposito @ Feb 24, 2015 -> 01:55 PM) 2014 preseason there was talk of Nate being our closer. all those hopes were dashed early I hope he can return to his former pitching form. He would be a great asset later in the season to the '15 sox. It would basically be like getting a reliever in a big midseason trade. lvjeremylv
Yep, Nate has a big arm. Let's hope he can come back healthy, could be a very solid addition to what could very well be an already solid bullpen by the time he's ready. chitownsportsfan
What the hell happened to him anyways? Last I read he had a back issue but he's been shut down for what, 6 months now? Long toss is nothing. It's like a basketball player taking warmups. When does he think he'll be throwing from the mound, end of March? Have to think they'll have him stick around extended spring training until early May and then assign him to a rehab stint.

Was rehabbing the back injury last year and went down for Tommy John Surgery after tearing UCL in his elbow, good chance it was due in part to extra stress during the back injury rehab. Ugh, hate to see that. Thanks for the info. Wish him well he should make a full recovery but for a young athlete like that it had to have been a tough blow. His career isn't over by any stretch, but he's not as young as we would believe.

Not even counting on the injured guys at all, bringing in Robertson, Duke, and Jennings alone makes this bullpen a hell of a lot deeper.
