ChiSox_Sonix
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 14, 2015 -> 02:48 PM) Just to note the difficulty - if Thursday night games are going to continue the whole season, that becomes really difficult to do unless you're offering a 2nd bye week. "Our bye week isn't until week 15 because we've got the last Thursday game of the season" and "our bye week is week 1 of the season" are both equally poor scheduling and a major disadvantage compared with teams that have a bye in the middle. I'd be completely fine if the NFL expanded to 18 weeks and offered every team 2 bye weeks throughout. In fact, it might make for a better product. And I wouldn't hate an extra week of football
bigruss
Went to the game yesterday, had box seats (as mentioned before) and it was glorious. They got those boxes right in the renovation that's for sure (but looking at the other side I would never sit in that 400 section). Was able to see the post game press conference live as well, Fox, Cutler, and Forte all answered questions. A few observations from a really cool experience: -First off, the backdrop for them covers just enough for the cameras, looks really silly in person. -Cutler is much more personable in person, he gave some pretty good responses/answers to the media. Best answer he has started with "that's a loaded question". -Forte doesn't usually do these or at least didn't in the past, he was pretty nervous it seemed like but he gave the best answer of the day, when asked how the team/offense compared to last year he said "no one had a stupid look on their face this year". It was pretty funny to see the reactions to that, and when we were leaving the room a bunch of reporters were talking about it and viewing that as gold for them. Game was way closer than we thought it would be, Cutler didn't play well but his receivers didn't help. There were a handful of dropped balls that really should've been caught. Pretty impressed with the defense, they played pretty well considering their talent level vs. Rodgers. Once we get more talent on this team I really think the coaching staff will succeed. Then don't have Thursday games in Weeks 2-3 or 15-17. Or do what was suggested above and expand to 18 weeks with 2 bye weeks.

pettie4sox
QUOTE (Boogua @ Sep 14, 2015 -> 11:26 AM) Romo is helped a ton by that OL and run game. He isn't on the same planet as the other guys when asked to throw at a similar volume. The only one I would even consider putting romo over is Manning due to how he looks health wise. This is so absurd. Brady has had excellent OL during his career. Rodgers too. Romo led the league in most of the pass categories last year. I'm sorry but I disagree that BB is better than Romo, the stats do not back this up.

2nd_city_saint787
QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 13, 2015 -> 03:30 PM) Sutton I thought played great. This post got lost. What a surprise he has been. Taking preseason performance into account as well, he looks like he can be a potential building block. I really love that the Bears seemingly could have a front 3 in house for years to come for cheap in Will, Ego, and Eddie.

Their attitude to take the coaching and adjust was a relief. I really think by end of year Sutton/Ferguson/Ratliff will be a hell of a line. It's a team game ultimately but Romo leads the league in 4th quarter comebacks. That's a big deal and the signs of an elite QB. The most sacks Romo has ever taken in a season is 36. In 2011 Rodgers took 36 sacks and set the single season QB rating record and went 14-1. In 2012 he took 51 and still managed a 108 QB rating. You're the one trying to make Romo out to be an elite top 3 QB and then proceeding to make excuses as to why he's never quite performed like the elite QBs. The elite QBs don't need the excuses.
