Jeff Dickerson @DickersonESPN

A Lake Forest Police officer was on the Halas Hall premises at 3 p.m. yesterday. That is not normal.

Jeremiah Ratliff was escorted out of Halas Hall on Wed. by #Bears team security. Ratliff had an animated exchange with GM Ryan Pace outside.

It takes something special to make you feel sorry for Jay Cutler.

Not really. If you hear a lot of the quotes from his current teammates and some past teammates, its really seems that so much of the stuff you hear about Jay was a bunch of bull. Dilfer and others have said it as well, he is a hard working dude and the perception was negative in Denver, but their was a lot more smoke their. Jay isn't a top leader and clearly has some confidence issues which is clear. What was said in that article was consistent.

If you watch football, you'd see that Jay is a warrior on the field. You can talk about his football game however you want, but you can't debate that by and large Bears never did anything to build around him. And someone could say, oh but Jay whined or got mad...well, look at Brady or Rodgers...they are brutal and no one ever cares. City of Chicago meathead fans are the worst on the planet.

That dude has some personality issues to say the least. If you cant play nice with the Cowboys who take in all the rejects then who can you work with?

One rumor that he might have showed up on drugs and then was immediately cut and then came back. No idea whether it is valid and it has not been picked up by any major publication, rather pure message board fodder.

my best friends son is a Lake Forest Fireman..my friend texted me last night about this..."supposedly" Ratliff came to Halas Hall yesterday "all drugged up"..after words were exchanged he was told he was cut...he left...came back and began threatening coaches, players and players kids who were present saying he was the devil..the police were called but he took off before they arrived..at that time his whereabouts were unknown...take this for what its worth but I believe it to be true..

That doesn't sound like drugs. That sounds like manic behavior.

You are only down by 6 points and try that stupid play. Chuck Pagano is probably fired at the end of the year anyway, but things like that don't help his case.

It makes me feel better about Robin Ventura.

Really good piece from Bleacher report by the Bronco's GM who drafted Cutler. Very interesting when you read about what Mcdaniels did and why Cutler wanted out (justifiably).

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2580349...ened-from-there

That was good. It was interesting to watch the draft video and reactions of the ESPN guys.

Unfortunately, many of his bad habits that were identified pre-draft (eg. Throwing off his back foot) are still evident. Actually, I thought it was interesting that both of his TD passes in the KC game were off his back foot. I heard some of the experts praising him for those throws - paying no attention to his bad mechanics. But if he throws an INT (like he did on the Jeffery pass last weekend), they point out the mechanics.

I've always wondered where he got the reputation as a bad guy, because other than being aloof, I've not really seen it. It seems like that comes from Shanahan pulling Plummer (who was really popular) and replacing him with Cutler. The veterans on the team didn't like that. Then he was traded to the Bears for Orton, who was similarly popular with his teammates.

The Tribune article said he showed up "not in a condition to work", which sounds very Sarkisian esque.

You can read what you saw, into this tweet as the "isolated incident"

Per sources, my understanding: There was "isolated incident" re: Jeremiah Ratliff, then exchange with GM Pace, today his release. #Bears

If he's going to throw off his back foot, fade routes into the end zone are the one place I'm fine with it.

Right, but he tends to under throw that pass, as opposed to putting it out long where either it is out of bounds or only his guy can get it.

Either way, what I find funny is the analysis of him is always based on the result. His form is often bad even on successful plays, but the announcer/analyst will often say that he's only one of a handful of guys who can make the pass.
