I really like his hires, not sure on his player moves yet. Though of course, time will tell on those.

Even if his player moves do not work out, I really appreciate his handling of the cap to allow us room to make a single big splash when more appropriate.

I don't know anything about the Ravens guy, but I have no problem with hiring anyone from that front office.

Agreed. Plus, I respect Daniel Jeremiah a lot, so this was a nice tweet to see:

PATs moved back to the 15. 2 pt conversions stay at 2. I like it

This just seems flat out stupid. Should have stuck to the original plan of perhaps fundamentally changing strategy. Now it's just the same problem they wanted to get rid, that 30 yard FGs are made at 95%, which I guess is a slight "improvement" of 99%. And now games will likely be decided by missed FGs even more, which again is just dumb and backwards.

Agreed. This is my proposal.

After a TD, the offense can just take an automatic 1 point PAT with no further action needed, or decide to go for 2 from the 2 yard line.

Small, but I'm glad the defense can finally be rewarded by taking a 2 point attempt back for a TD like they do in college.

Doesn't that happen about as often as a missed extra point?

I think they should do away with the kicks. Just give 7 for a TD unless you want to go for 2, then it's 6. Saves some time.

But then there's typically no PAT commercial break.

That's why I prefaced it saying it was a small deal. It's just something I've never understood them not having, so I'm glad it's changed

Can the defense return blocked extra points too? That doesn't seem like the best idea. If it ever happens in a big moment, teams will possibly just start taking a knee instead of kicking late in a one point game.

That's the rule in college, and yes, if you score to go up by 1 or 2 with less than 20 seconds left, you should be taking a knee instead of trying to kick a PAT.

I think I'm missing something here, why would that be bad?

It would just be silly for teams to take a knee instead of even attempting it. That's why I think they should just get rid of the kick, make a TD 7 unless you want to go for 2.

Up by 1 no one kicks it now anyways. They go for two to make it a FG game.

Will teams stop doing that because of the risk of a fumble/int return?

The only time the defensive 2 point rule will impact the offense's extra point decision is within the last 20 seconds of the game, when the extremely tiny odds of a defensive 2 point play finally become higher than the odds that the other team will score on offense.
