GGajewski18
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 20, 2015 -> 11:04 PM) f***ing DBacks just signed a $2 billion tv contract. Then they traded their promising 19 year old 2014 1st round pick in order to dump Arroyo's salary? So puzzling. John Hart is doing a great job in Atlanta. One of the dumbest trades I've seen. DBacks are getting grilled on twitter for making this trade.
GreenSox
Just a crass salary dump. Terrible Of course the Sox did this with E Jackson, who would have brought back a marginal top 100 prospect like Teahen was, to save $6 mill on Teahen. Dick Allen
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jun 20, 2015 -> 11:48 PM) Just a crass salary dump. Terrible Of course the Sox did this with E Jackson, who would have brought back a marginal top 100 prospect like Teahen was, to save $6 mill on Teahen. Jackson was going to be a free agent. For 13 Edwin Jackson starts, and taking Teahan's money, the Sox got Frasor,, who turned into. Webb and Jaye. I really don't understand how anyone can complain about that. caulfield12
Carlos Correa is pretty good, haha. Don't think he can catch Bryant and Pederson for NLROY, though. Unintended trade consequences situation with the Rays/Mariners...they swap two former top prospects in Montgomery (originally with Royals, the forgotten part of the Myers/Odorizzi/Shields/Wade Davis deal) and Erasmo Ramirez. Ramirez ends up pitching well for the Rays and keeping them competitive when everyone had basically already given up on him in SEA. Meanwhile, Montgomery's pitching a shutout against his former team, the Royals. Edited June 24, 2015 by caulfield12

caulfield12
Let's see 2015 play out with the Nationals before we give up on Strasburg. Who knows, he'll probably be in the 2015 White Sox rotation the rate things are going, traded for Quintana as KW attempts to build attendance via "star power" once again. Hasn't worked with Samardzija, that's for sure.
caulfield12
At the moment, the A's might be the American League's best team even at 34-41. Take a moment to wrap your mind around that one. Ridiculous? Sure, maybe. But the context is impressive. At 14-30, Beane's massive offseason overhaul appeared to have blown up in his face. Injuries were a huge factor, but it's a bottom-line business. Since 14-30, the A's have gone 20-11. They may now have one of the two or three best rotations in the American League and a very deep, very good lineup. There are still issues with the bullpen and defense, but the A's are close to being pretty much the team Beane expected them to be. And in a division in which every team has an issue or two, the A's have pluses that could outweigh their minuses. http://m.mlb.com/news/article/132917242/oa...with-hot-streak

flavum
QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 15, 2015 -> 11:54 AM) If the Blue Jays hold their rotation, Buehrle will start at the Cell on July 6. He'll definitely start that series. Could be the last time. Still July 6 vs Chris Sale. Might have to make an appearance. edit: Now that Rodon is being skipped, it may be Sale on Sunday. So it could be Buehrle/Rodon on Monday. Edited June 28, 2015 by flavum
