If Mark Buehrle wins tomorrow, he will be 1 win behind Sabbathia and 2 wins behind Colon for the lead among active pitchers. He will likely soon pass those two and reign as the active leader for as long as he wants to play.

He's only 36, so he could hold this title for awhile.

Has he said what his plans are beyond this year? He's as good as ever, and should get a healthy deal from someone if he wants to keep going. Sure hope he does. Has a real chance at the Hall, imo.

He's at 48 career fWAR and 60.7 bWAR (fangraphs always underestimated him IMO because he doens't striek people out). For the Baseball Reference numbers that already puts him right in the range where he's in the discussion. End of the year he'll be next to guys named Drysdale, Marichal, Vance, Eckersley. B-R says that in their numbers the average pitching HOF has 70. Fangraphs he's a bit farther away but with a legit shot remaining.

Last time he did the complete opposite of what he said his plans were so who knows. I feel like he could pitch in the NL West until he was 50. (Not ARI or COL of course )

OK, so I forgot Tim Hudson, who's at 219, but I imagine this is his last year, too. MB56 should be leading by mid-season next year at the latest, unless I'm forgetting someone else.

Fangraphs underestimates guys like Buehrle because he consistently outperforms his FIP due to his fielding and outstanding ability to hold runners on base.

They recommend when looking at full career numbers for pitchers to use the RA9/WAR instead of the main one they show on the player pages.

In the bottom of the 9th inning and his closer struggling, Lloyd McClendon went out of his way to argue a check swing call and was intentionally trying to get tossed from the game and the crew chief just turned his back on him.

How is McClendon still a manager?

Trout hits homer 33 and 131 of his career on his 24th birthday. Not a bad player. Kid's got a future in this game...

Also his third birthday homerun
