Texsox
Fielding percentages are useless -- the most useless stat in baseball. In a ocean of useless stats, fielding percentage belongs in the Hall of Fame.
Queen Prawn
In a ocean of useless stats, fielding percentage belongs in the Hall of Fame. Unless of course your favorite player (whomever he may be) is #1, than it is the cream of the crop of stats .
Al Lopez Ghost (old)
Hey I like Paulie too, and he's a far better first baseman that Frank, but gold glove? No. No. No.(repeat many times) By the way, fan of 14, be careful. Paulie seems to have a few detractors around here, you may have notice. I wasn't referring to Paulie, just a general observation! Oh yes, I noticed the detractors and with his first half performance (or lack there of), I can't entirely blame them. I wasn't keen on the amount Kenny signed him for either.
Bridgeport_Joe
It's not just fielding percentage. If you look at every stat (Defensive Efficiency, Zone Rating, etc.), the Sox are above-average-to-good. This team is a solid defensive team. Period. Harry Chappas
There are too many balls that drop in wheather bloopers, or in the gaps, and seeing eye singles. This stems from our over-all lack of team speed and quickness, nothing ever "gets tracked down," this is where these perceptions come from and I beleive it to be true. It is not errors, it is lack of range from just about everyone.
