LDF
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 3, 2015 -> 01:10 AM) Surprised there are no Eaton, Aaron Rowand, Jake Peavy or Kenny Williams quotes about "Sox Tough/blue collar/lunch pail" stuff. I guess Abreu's now the prime example of humility, with his "Puritan" work ethic and lack of interest in seeking the limelight or attention like Puig, Moncada and Cespedes. a very outside the box comment. i like it very much. ewokpelts
I think with the emotions involved with playing at home, plus te fact that he does want to explore free agency, I doubt we see any move until the offseason. And let's be honest. If he leaves, the sox still have a stud waiting in the minors. Plus the compensation pick. Rick made the right move trading for him. This is not a "please stay" move. It's "don't regret leaving" move.

I know wins aren't everything, but for a 30 year old with 36 career wins, and really not a long history of being ace-like, $100 million is really sticking your neck out IMO, and that might not be enough. It is very possible the best solution for the White Sox is one and done. It works for Calipari and Coach K.
