Yeah that's like Peyton Manning wanting to play next year and the Broncos saying "Nah, you cant go anymore, but you can be assistant QB coach" and Peyton saying "Ok cool im in"

He went to a 3rd party doctor with cutting edge technology dealing with Cte and concussions. They said he's f***ed up. That's why he's retiring.

Dave meltzer had a breaking news podcast on it this afternoon. He had actually gotten cleared by other doctors. Went to this one who deals with nfl and mma guys with some new fangled technology and I guess that's when the decision was made.

I dont doubt you, but im pretty sure CTE is nothing more than a guess until you're dead and they can examine your brain. I dunno, this is just weird, but I guess its legit. Well see what hes about to say.

I don't know what exactly it covers to be honest. From what I can tell from Meltzer the guy he went to is the only guy in the world able to diagnose like he does. DB touched on it a bit in his speech tonight.

That was tough to watch and awesome all at the same time.

@davemeltzerWON

Remember when that Ric Flair retirement segment was the greatest segment in TV wrestling history? Well, now it's second best.

That's some ultra high praise. I think I agree. Totally amazing.

Emotional on so many levels. My eyes were watery as it went along. The YES chant at the end had me with all kinds of feels.

Like Rowand said, awesome and sad all at the same time.

My favorite wrestler of this era retiring way too young because he of concussions :(

No. The Flair retirement segment was loads more memorable.

Odd seeing hhh and Vince come out. The two guys who didn't want to elevate DB and kept making him wrestle Sheamus who I'm sure contributed to the head injuries.

Not sure a lot of people are going to agree with you on that, I know I don't. And we both know my opinion matters more than yours!

I think you need to rewatch the Flair farewell. Even Taker came out.

DB retirement is tragic because the head injuries are coming to the forefront everywhere now.

Don't think it's fair to point fingers at WWE on this. Vince and HHH could have cleared DB to return at RR, but chose not to until he's cleared by the WWE doctors, which is a move that prevents putting the company at jeopardy for future lawsuits but also looks out for the long term health of DB.

As DB mentioned last night, he has been dealing with concussions ever since he started wrestling, on a relatively frequent basis. If anything wrestling for WWE probably saved his life because other promotions would have cleared him to return a long time ago.

I'd wait a few years to put him in the HOF. More of an impact. I didn't like how they put Edge in so quickly when he had to retire. Maybe implement a 5 year rule like major sports, even though it's clearly not the same.

lol, looks like the WWE Instagram account put a picture of the Rock working out and wearing what was CLEARLY a Lucha Underground shirt, they tagged it #Tapout (WWE and the bro clothing brand have a business relationship). It's now down, but was actually up for a good 20-30 minutes.

Like I said, complete disagree but it's a matter of opinion.

Completely agree with this.

Also for any of you guys that like Indy wrestling, I just grabbed tix for the evolve show on the Saturday before mania. That'll probably be the 2nd best show of the weekend behind NXT.
