All.Out.War.

Declared.

I want to see the Sox declare war. After watching LaRoche stare down Duffy, then whack a double, I'm convinced he can be our leader. If we get swept by KC, I hope LaRoche freaks out in the clubhouse. So what if it's early. 0-3 will be unacceptable.

If I'm declaring WAR on the central - guaranteed at least SOMEONE in the dugout already is as well. IT'S ON - and it'll be a damned good show.

Edit:

Btw, this supports your intuition regarding LaRoche. Adam talking to the team doing some things right:

"There's some good things, but when you lose, it's hard to focus on that for me," LaRoche said. "I'll leave that up to the coaching staff to analyze that stuff."

In this day and age, the clubhouse leader better be bilingual. For several years, Boston had multiple interpretors in the clubhouse because of the diversity of today's players.

The White Sox better declare war on themselves (apathy/malaise) before they worry about their AL Central competition.

i didnt see apathy/malaise yesterday. They took the lead and then tied it twice before Putnam hung a pitch.

The Caulfield and I don't always see eye to eye but I certainly agree with this statement. We send our two front end starters to the mound and just as they were doing in ST they get rocked. Our bullpen has not solidified and give up too many hits and walks. Plus we lose again by a homerun in the late innings (yesterday). Lorenzo Cain may tick us off as do the rest of the Royals but Cain played with some fire and when he had his opportunity he struck. I am thinking our main problem is as a team the group is still feeling itself out and when they jell we wil be a force to be reckoned with. But, we need to play with some sense of purpose and fire. We have the talent but need to show it as the team to beat in the Central. It's only two games into the season bt let's hope this isn't how we approach the rest of the games.

This.

Has absolutely nothing to do with having fire. Starting pitching wasn't good enough, they are bad defensively, and Kansas City pitched pretty well. They are a bad matchup for the Sox. Minnesota is exactly what this team needs right now.

FIRE ROBIN

TOO SOON?

When's the last time we fired a manager in the middle of a season?

LaRussa?

That was after a 26-38 start.

The nuclear meltdown start: here's always the 14-29 of 2001 (without Frank Thomas and with David Wells getting injured early) following up the success of 2000....but that team at least fought to get back up over .500 by July.

Yep, 11-20 in 1995.

I should have known better.

The Pirates quickly hired him (lifelong friends with Jim Leyland) and he spent a lot of that season in Augusta where I was working...as a consultant/advisor (and assessing Jose Guillen's maturity levels).

One of the coolest things I did that year was getting a framed 1993 Chicago Tribune cover page after clinching the pennant autographed by Lamont...the one with Bo Jackson, if I remember correctly.

His particular favorite at our stadium was the playing of YMCA, although by that summer I was thoroughly sick of that song being overplayed as much as the Macarena and "Centerfield" (John Fogerty)...and I can even say that I'm one of the few to go out with two MLB managers (now with Jeff Bannister getting the Rangers' job) and survive Hooters' wings over 50 times in one summer.

Robin has to be sick of this s***. I need to listen to his postgame today. I hope he told it like it is at least and said we got outplayed in all facets during those 3 horrific (from a Sox standpoint) games.

I know it's just three games but the only guys to make me happy I bought mlb.com were Abreu and A. Garcia. That Flowers bomb was a thing of beauty, too.

Sometimes I think getting players from losing organizations come to play. I still don't get the Samardzija hype. I still think the minors it littered with poor fundamentals and they never seem to run out of mentally weak players. I can't back that up in anyway but it is a hunch.
