Volquez next start he will get rocked.

The thing is, the Sox hit the s*** out of the ball the first few innings. His defense bailed him out. He's now in a groove and is full of confidence. Just goes to show you have to jump on pitchers.

Actually nearly every site I saw that has a collection of voters had the Sox ranked 3rd in the AL Central. And the Sox absolutely do have speed, with 4 guys that can get 20 this year.

I don't think Eaton is that fast in the basestealing sense. Great catch, though. Micah may never get on base to steal. Who else is fast?

So much for the talk of making pitchers work.

I did not see last nights game but Monday and today has shown me that this team has the same mentality of previous teams, OBP is not part of their mentality.

Nice job getting off to a slow start.

0-3 is unacceptable.

Here we go again.

5th time in 6 innings the Royals have put their leadoff man on base.

Playing with fire.

Cain with 5 hits in 11 AB's. Heck, looking at the Royals' averages right now is like a waking nightmare.

They're just a better team right now. The Sox offense and the big 3 pitching is going to have to be what separates them from other teams. Not the end of the world, as it's not like the Sox have played well enough to deserve any of these games so far.

Alexei and Garcia, Sanchez will pick up some steals...

Eaton is VERY fast, he's just not adept or confident about baserunning.

Cabrera can run a bit, too...maybe not like Alex Rios, but he's not a base clogger, either.

Tim Anderson's going to a big weapon, too...if he can refine his raw speed and tools with the help of the minor league coaching staff.

Fundamental baseball on offense....so THAT is what it looks like. I had just about forgotten.

I feel like balta from previous years when I say that I feel the performance in Spring Training the last few weeks of camp foreshadowed a slow start to the season. I don't necessarily blame Ventura for this, but when a diehard fan like myself turns off games in Spring Training because they were unwatchable, then something weird was going on with the team.
