Ventura bunted on the road earlier in the week on the road to ATTEMPT to tie.

Now on the road hes playing for the potential 14th or 15th instead of trying to preserve a tie with his closer not out there in the 9th?

And seriously, I bet he didnt take Iglesias as a credible offensivee threat because he was pretty terrible last year...so why not at least take his results for a nine game stretch this year into account....when youre hitting over .400 something has to be going right and its not just complete luck or an anomaly.

I need a beer.

Hi-def and with the ability to slow down: http://gfycat.com/BlushingQuarterlyChrysomelid

he's out

He was clearly out on the replay. Alexei tagged his toe , foot even changed direction ,saw it on the Tigers feed on whitesox.com . Even the Tiger announcers said he was out and were mystified that it wasn't challenged. Loss is clearly on Robin .

I'm pretty sure the vote tally against robin for not challenging is tumblr_inline_ngmr84tfQ41s4rar7.png - Dick Allen's vote.

If an NFL coach had made this error, yikes.

Eh Iglesias got his hit because the infield was drawn in. That's a routine groundout otherwise.

Yes, if he had walked Iglesias to put the infield back at double play depth.

Iglesias is the quintessential contact guy with little pop like Carlos Sanchez.

I don't like Robin's excuse that the rest of the staff and guys upstairs didn't think he made the tag. Who exactly does the buck stop with? Who is managing this team? Most importantly, why is he asking?? He has nothing to lose. Use your damn challenge!

I think we have lost at least two games now because of management. You make these mistakes in your first year, not your third. I hope they don't waste this season waiting for Robin to figure things out.

I like that comp actually. At least the Tigers are smart enough to play their version. Iglesias made some slick plays today. I'm going to start pounding this Micah over Sanchez decision as it just reeks of KW's influence imo. SSS did a very good writeup on Micah the other day -- that gif of him backhanding the ball on the play ranging up the middle was cringeworthy. FWIW he's already been worth half a f***ing NEGATIVE run on the bases thanks to boneheaded pickoffs. -.1 fWAR already. Yea ultra small sample -- of total suck however.

KW said Robin Ventura had the IQ and EQ qualities of a general/military leader (upon his hiring).

Leaders lead, and trust their own judgment...after all, he's the one with the loss on his record, not the Sox video review coordinator.

So do what KW claims you were born to do.

Spot on. And, as Balta reminded me, THIS IS HIS 4TH f***ING YEAR NOW.

We'd be very angry at Alexei Ramirez for missing the tag.

We'd then be angry at Robin for not walking the batter after the bunt to try to set up a possible game-saving double play.

Why would you just walk one??? You should walk the next 2 so you set up a force at home or doubleplay starting at any base.

Say this wasn't the replay era of baseball. That ball beat the runner by a mile. You gotta run out there and take a s*** on the ump's shoes at a bare minimum. Pump your guys up, take away the momentum. Make your tirade last a half hour so the pen can warm up. I'm so pissed that I have to join the "Robin Sucks" club now. I'd like to run for president if it's election time ?

And think about this which I haven't seen brought up yet. Didn't Samardzija say he wanted to get a feel for the organization before he thinks about resigning with the Sox ? He can't be getting a very positive view of the Sox at this time .

I Know it's not the popular opinion, but it looked like he slid around the tag. As far as Robin goes, they could fire him tomorrow and I wouldn't lose any sleep. That being said, to assume it cost them the game, you are also assuming that they could actually score some runs.

Did you see the feed from the Tigers broadcast ? You will see the tag was clear , no ifs ands or buts about it. http://m.whitesox.mlb.com/news/article/118...e-winning-rally Watch that and see the definitive view at about the 2 min. 15 second mark. Even before that if you're looking for it just watch Alexei's glove and Catellanos foot. The second he tagged him it snapped Castellanos foot and you seen dirt flying off the cleat from the foot being flexed then springing forward after the tagged was released.

I saw it in the clip that was just posted. The other gif I saw wasn't as clear. My point was more to them ultimately losing anyway because the offense has been putrid.

No team plays back with the winning run on third and less than 2 out.
