Seems they're already making plans to move the games to Washington/Nationals' Park.

Good for the White Sox, then, skip Noesi and a significantly decreased homefield advantage.

We aren't suppose to come back to BAL right? I would assume we need to play a DH tomorrow or Wednesday unless there happens to be a day both teams can play

City-wide curfew for 10 p.m. - 5 a.m. begins tomorrow; 27 people arrested today; 15 officers injured in the riots. bsun.md/live-blog

When it says "begins tmrw," does that mean at 12:01 a.m. TONIGHT or tomorrow night starting at 10 p.m.?

a very good point.

watch this thread merges with the other one. :)

It would seem to me playing in DC tomorrow isn't likely.

Maybe they work that out during the day tomorrow and play two on Wednesday in DC--unless things calm down a lot.

Hopefully if there's a single game to be made up, they'll do it on July 3rd in Chicago, and they'll be the home team for one of the games.

Here's an example from a G20 security situation...where the games had to be changed from TOR to Philly.

Seems it's up to all of the clubs involved to work out a solution. In that case, it was Philly being the road team in their own park.

They definitely have a series of economic calculations to take into consideration (security, vendors, ticket takers, gameday personnel, etc.)

Then you have to decide whether to do a split DH (1 pm and 7 pm) or just starting at 5 or 6 pm and playing two from that point.

Wonder about the turnaround for staffing the stadium with less than 24 hours' notice?

Probably would go with the second option, because they're not weekend/big revenue-producing games.

i just don't know. i know i have been spouting about this and alot, but baseball is a money maker. i just can't see the owners freely willing to let it be held in another city.

look at the sox and the sCrubs, when it was question on playing some games in sox park. that didn't go over well.

what will mlb and the money split be.

Hasn't this come up before where Cubs and/or White Sox games were played in Milwaukee...or vice-versa, Brewers games at Wrigley or Comiskey?

Heck, we had a season or two where we played a limited number of "home games" in Milwaukee before the Brewers came into existence, right?

They've done stuff like this before, a series in Miami was played in Chicago like 10 years ago because of a hurricane. It's not a standard procedure but they've done it before.

Zambrano threw a no-hitter for the Cubs against the Astros in Milwaukee.

Expos and Marlins played home games at the Cell.

Baltimore should just forfeit the games.

If the shoe was on the other foot...

As long as the Sox don't have to make a special trip back to Baltimore, probably May 28, whatever they have to do is ok.

If the mayor of Chicago "gave rioters space" to riot and the city couldn't control their own "citizens" then the Sox or the Cubs should forfeit the games. Didn't the Sox have to forfeit the game on Disco Demolition Night?

Difference is---something going on in the community vs something happening in the ballpark. Pretty simple really.

This isn't the Orioles fault.

Yes, the White Sox (marketing department) brought that situation down upon their own heads...and couldn't police/control it effectively.

Expecting the Camden Yards Andy Frain/rent a cops/security guards to act like the National Guard or even a SWAT unit isn't exactly the same situation.
