One more 2016 draft update: I'm told Oklahoma RHP Alec Hansen was up to 99 mph today. He's 6'7 or 6'8 with knockout stuff, 1-1 candidate.

Seems that name came out of nowhere almost....

People say he's Dillon Tate to the extreme

Sounds like Tyler Kolek when you hear his physical description.

Risky.

Jonathan Gray (Rockies) hasn't exactly torn up the minor leagues...he was also from OU, if I remember correctly.

That's correct.

And I am pretty high on Kolek, he could be a stud but for him is all about developing secondary stuff.

What does that have to do with Hansen?

Rutherford is my favorite guy in this draft, followed by Riley Pint, Jason Groome and Puk

re pulk, he did so many good things that is not in the game recap or box scores. very advance for his age, pretty much like the freshman sp from lsu. very compose.

Watching Puk pitch right now against Virginia.

Edit:

He reminds me of Bumgarner at first glance with a downhill delivery, he really uses his height to his advantage.

I hate to bring up the Cubs, we have enough Cub talk around here....but I laughed at them for drafting Bryant over Gray.....

A potential #1 overall pick for 2016, 6'4/195 Kansas prep RHP Riley Pint, sat 94-96 in his first inning at PG National.

Riley Pint sitting 94-95 T96 in first inning. Erratic command but live arm. Command can improve with added strength in lower half.

Nick Banks showed off a gorgeous left handed swing earlier for a double. Eight seconds flat home to second. Texas A&M outfielder. #CNT

My early pick for next year. Pretty sure LDF is high on him as well.

When I think about the Sox and the 2016 draft I think, hitters hitters hitters!

Any interesting prep/college hitters to keep an eye on?

Heck, if the Sox finish bottom ten in league, don't give up any draft picks for free agents, and get a sandwich pick for Shark, that'd be 3 picks in about rhe first 50/60. But I'd rather get a more polished prospect (s) for Samardzija.

At this rate they'll have a top 8 pick, and prospects in return for Shark and maybe Danks, LaRoche, and Melky, thought Fulmer would be our last shot at elite US talent but apparently not, way too early but I love Groome the lanky LHP from NJ/FL
