Well, this is depressing.

EATON, WHY IN THE HELL ARE YOU TRYING TO THROW RAJAI DAVIS OUT AT HOME?????

Hit the cutoff man, stop the runner from getting to 3rd.

IDIOTIC. This keeps happening over and over and over again.

Bah, that's the kind of thing only silly teams practice.

That change-up is a terrible pitch. Easily the worst of his 3 main pitches. I have absolutely no idea what's going on with Sale this season, and Cooper/Flowers just need to leave this organization.

Chris Sale's changeup has long rated as one of the best pitches in all of baseball

warm up the bullpen, WOW

Petricka....

How did Kinsler not score there on a double play? Weird. But it's almost impossible to score unless you break right away, in which case it would have been 1st and 2nd and probably one out (unless they could catch the runner at 1st, unlikely).

His slider's still a much better wipe-out pitch. His change-up has always been a bit inconsistent IMO.

93 pitches already through 5 innings.

Bullpen game.

Are we actually nails? We shall definitely find out (part of the answer) tonight.

Still somehow in this game. Hopefully Sale rediscovers his ace-ness

It's mystifying, Chris, Lester, Kershaw and Bumgarner have all struggled out of the gate this year.

(Ricky Romero was released, haha).

But wasn't that also when he had the best slider in baseball?

Yeah I'd guess that it's less effective when he's only throwing 9% sliders rather than 18% but it's still rated as his best pitch, both this year and over his career

Great stuff, love the statistical contributions you bring to the threads

Cheers! I am drinking Gringolandia Wheat right now. I've never had but I would recommend.

Unfortunately all we got in the kitchen is Summer Shandy, which is not my ideal choice for a Sox game.

I'll definitely make note of this Gringolandia Wheat.

If the front office thinks Avi is a future 30/30, it shows you just how terrible they are at scouting.

Maybe 30/30 is 30 weak ground outs to left side and 30 misplays in RF?

That's so worrying. I hope Hahn doesn't think that.

Meanwhile, Gameday had no clue on that pitch from Simon.
