V-Mart's 33.08 is the 4th slowest in 5 years TaterTrotTracker has been keepingtimes. 2 of the 3 slower were by players injured during trot. I really think, assuming he is in the same shape he was in at the end of last season, if Paulie raced those guys around the bases, he has a shot at a gold medal. There was another related tweet that mentioned McGwire's trot on his 62nd homer in 1998 - during which he stopped to hug people - was still quicker than VMart's. flavum
QUOTE (Tex @ May 7, 2015 -> 11:22 AM) .500 by June 1st If they come back from that 11-game road trip on June 4th at 26-26 or better, I'll be surprised and ecstatic. Would have to go 16-12 starting today. Doable, but they need to prove they can win on the road, and they need Sale and Samardzija to carry the starting staff. It just shows you today's attention span of people. Only diehard fans will stay after the 3 hour mark. Once it hits 10:15 on a night game, forget it. Only diehard fans will stay after the 3 hour mark. Once it hits 10:15 on a night game, forget it. while you do make a good point, i don't know if that is the answer. we at a game in Hou, it was coming to 9:30, i told him lets go. he was surprise, on the drive, he asked why we left before the end of the game. my answer was, it was getting late. he laugh, we talked about when i was a season ticket holder in chi and the nite games for the sox. the point is, these games, sometime during the weekdays, are late. i am thinking that they need to start them 1/2 hour earlier. the week days, a nite game kills me. but yeah i am old fart. i am thinking, to some, the responsibility of work, come first now. but that does make them any less of a die hard fan. bmags
also some of the last trains until midnight are 10:30, that used to get me. Making fun of people leaving early is lame. People made time and paid to go to the games, but sometimes you just have to leave.
