Heads22
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 15, 2015 -> 09:54 PM) Not really, a .591 OPS & 61 wRC+ is pretty horrible. I'm not going to quibble too much with a .250 BA for a 22 year old getting a cup of coffee
Feeky Magee
QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 15, 2015 -> 09:17 PM) I'm not going to quibble too much with a .250 BA for a 22 year old getting a cup of coffee I do when it comes with 3 walks and 5 extra-base hits (all doubles) in 104 PA
SCCWS
QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 15, 2015 -> 08:31 PM) This is being really overthought. Micah: Showed promise Bad defense Great speed Patient batter Below average numbers Carlos: Has hit in limited big league time Destroying AAA Good defender Will likely show better consistency with bat Micah needs tons of reps, especially on defense. Charlotte is a good place for that. Carlos gives us better defense and likely a better bat. Again, you need to look at his stats. He was not destroying AAA. He had a great April and first couple of days in May. But since then he hit .222 over the last 2 weeks so his average dropped 60 points. All year he has a very poor BB/SO. Hopefully we see the April hitter and not ther May one.
GreenSox
Micah showed a pretty good plate approach with the Sox. I would have both he and Sanchez up.

Actually the timing is good. Now that Eaton seems to be hitting, the Sox can live w the 9th batter being a defensive spot.

This team needs a glove that's why I wanted Sanchez starting from the beginning. Nothing against Micah but Carlos is a better fit for this particular team imo. But he was pure fire for a wall.
ILMOU
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 17, 2015 -> 10:24 AM) This team needs a glove that's why I wanted Sanchez starting from the beginning. Nothing against Micah but Carlos is a better fit for this particular team imo. Well, the team needs a glove AND a bat or two, but Micah's D needs to be at a higher level or he can't play in the middle infield. But this IS a compromise, because Carlos has a very limited offensive upside. Semien may be the giant 2B-of-the-future regret, if Micah doesn't get it together. Rowand44
QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ May 17, 2015 -> 01:12 PM) Well, the team needs a glove AND a bat or two, but Micah's D needs to be at a higher level or he can't play in the middle infield. But this IS a compromise, because Carlos has a very limited offensive upside. The offense will be fine in the long run no matter who is at 2b, I couldn't/can't say the same thing about the defense. ILMOU
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 17, 2015 -> 12:17 PM) The offense will be fine in the long run no matter who is at 2b, I couldn't/can't say the same thing about the defense. The D needed the greatest attention in this case, granted, but the offense being "fine" will frequently not be "enough", depending upon the pitching. Agreed that the move was necessary, and will help , but Carlos is a utility guy imo. If his BA was accompanied by a general OBP skill, I'd feel differently. fathom
Sanchez has been great on defense, but his offense has been worse than anyone could have anticipated. It will be interesting to see if Beckham or Bonifacio get a chance to start consecutive games at 2nd while the rest of the offense is struggling. Ugh IF we're going to keep calling these guys up they should play until we can't tolerate them any more. Anyway, it's not like Bonifacio has been all that much better. Plus, Bonifacio should still be the guy who takes LaRoche's spot against lefties, but then we know that won't happen because .500 OPS guys are ok when they're LaRoche against lefties. greg775
I wonder how Micah is hitting in the minors. The shine on his star is definitely faded after that medicore showing in his debut (following all the raving by Hawk last season).
Señor Ding-Dong
QUOTE (fathom @ May 22, 2015 -> 08:55 PM) Sanchez has been great on defense, but his offense has been worse than anyone could have anticipated. It will be interesting to see if Beckham or Bonifacio get a chance to start consecutive games at 2nd while the rest of the offense is struggling. Well, he hit a walk-off and probably had three or so hits robbed by good defense. We should probably give him more than seven games to adjust to ML pitching. He's 3/23 since the call up, and Micah was 3/20 in his first seven games, just for comparison and he wound up at a respectable .270.

Whisox05
Micah Johnson has been discussed by#WhiteSox GM Rick Hahn and staff but no call up imminent https://twitter.com/scotgregor/status/618901552120598528 Since the season is most likely lost and probably going to trade at least shark, the sox might as well bring him back up to play. He's batting over .300+ in Charlotte Edited July 8, 2015 by WhiteSoxLifer

Chicago White Sox
QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jul 8, 2015 -> 05:10 PM) Micah Johnson has been discussed by#WhiteSox GM Rick Hahn and staff but no call up imminent https://twitter.com/scotgregor/status/618901552120598528 Since the season is most likely lost and probably going to trade at least shark, the sox might as well bring him back up to play. He's batting over .300+ in Charlotte At this point you might as well keep Sanchez at 2B until Shark is traded. While I wholeheartedly believe Micah is the better player and would help us win more games, our short-term goal should be maximizing Jeff's trade value and Carlos' defense is more important towards accomplishing that. Does anyone know if it is a normal day off, injury, or something else. I'm guessing day off. He's player like 9 straight days icluding a double header at least from what I can tell.
