The next 15 games are against OAK, CLE, MIN, TOR and BAL who have combined for a 76-96 record thus far. If the Sox are going to make a run to get back in this thing, now is a good time to do so. 9-6 gets them back to .500, but let's hope for a nice 11-4 or 12-3 stretch.

I wouldn't mind being forced to start 15 more consecutive game threads :D

Absolutely the time to play good baseball and convert them to wins.

12-9 the next 21 brings them home from the long road trip at 26-26. That's what they need the next few weeks.

This series is going to be really tough. Oakland may not be good but the Sox always have problems at the Col and there's no Quintana and no Sale. The best pitcher we have going in this series is going tonight, then its Danks and so-far deadass Samardzija. If they lose ground in Oakland they just have to make it up over the CLE-MIN-TOR stretch.

Panic will return if the Sox lose this series or god forbid get swept, but it shouldn't.

As clown shoes as the Sox have looked at times this season -- Oakland is right there with them. This is not a good Oakland team, not right now anyways. I'm very excited for this series and to see how the new look defense performs. I hope they continue to give La Roche more time at 1B and Gordo has earned the occasional start against RHP at 3B as well as the platoon role.

Sox record is 3½ games better than Oakland, but Sox have a -35 run differential and Oakland has +1. Oakland's team OPS is 30 points better than the Sox (while playing in a very hitter-unfriendly home stadium), Oakland's starter ERA is 1.34 points better than the Sox. Only edge Sox have is a 1.32 point edge in reliever ERA.

Interesting stats to date. Sox also have way better players who are starting to heat up.

Yea, the A's aren't nearly as bad as their record indicates. Their 1-11 record in one run games is what makes them appear to be so bad.

1-11 in one run games vs 4-13 on the road. Immovable object vs unstoppable force
