Does anyone know why Robertson didn't pitch yesterday?

Not sure if serious, but the guy pitched 4 of the previous 5 games. They just gave him 2 days off...,He can't pitch every game of this 10 game win streak they're about to go on!

I get that, but he had an off day before yesterday's game too. In an important game to win, he should've been able to pitch. That's why the Sox paid him $48 million+. So he could close big games.

And the last thing you want to do is spend $48 million+ on a pitcher spending months on the DL. I'm sure he was "able" to pitch, but the Sox brass decided against it. Smart move.

Agree. Every team goes through a few games here and there where their closer doesnt pitch when he would be usually.

We need to protect him long term.

They didn't pay him 48 million to wear out his arm in the first two months of the deal. It's ok to give a guy rest sometimes, especially when he has been a little more hittable and less sharp recently.

Melky has been a disappointment to me

While I think he's going to end up being a good hitter for us, I can't for the life of me wrap my head around why he doesn't take AT LEAST 2 pitches before he swings. Why isn't that being demanded? How does a 1 pitch AB help the ball-club

Awful call to strike out Eaton. Abreu's ability to muscle inside pitches never ceases to imperss me, but I wish Cabrera and LaRoche tried a bit harder to work counts in their favor.

Despite his batting average LaRoche has a pretty good on base percentage . He draws a fairly decent amount of walks and last night the count was 2-0 when he got that bases loaded double.
