2nd_city_saint787
QUOTE (Mike F. @ May 16, 2015 -> 09:31 AM) Does anyone know why Robertson didn't pitch yesterday? Not sure if serious, but the guy pitched 4 of the previous 5 games. They just gave him 2 days off...,He can't pitch every game of this 10 game win streak they're about to go on! ChiSoxFanMike
QUOTE (scs787 @ May 16, 2015 -> 09:41 AM) Not sure if serious, but the guy pitched 4 of the previous 5 games. They just gave him 2 days off...,He can't pitch every game of this 10 game win streak they're about to go on! I get that, but he had an off day before yesterday's game too. In an important game to win, he should've been able to pitch. That's why the Sox paid him $48 million+. So he could close big games.
Dunt
That relay play last night was so unSox-like. How did they not overthrow the cutoff man?
2nd_city_saint787
5 of 7 games is an awful lot...what if they're in the same situation tomorrow, do you pitch him 6 of games...and so on.
Chicago White Sox
Lol...Chavez & Danks have the same record, but Chavez's ERA is exactly half of Danks'.

In an important game to win, he should've been able to pitch. That's why the Sox paid him $48 million+. So he could close big games. And the last thing you want to do is spend $48 million+ on a pitcher spending months on the DL. I'm sure he was "able" to pitch, but the Sox brass decided against it. Smart move. ShandyMan
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 16, 2015 -> 10:37 AM) And the last thing you want to do is spend $48 million+ on a pitcher spending months on the DL. I'm sure he was "able" to pitch, but the Sox brass decided against it. Smart move. Agree. Every team goes through a few games here and there where their closer doesnt pitch when he would be usually. We need to protect him long term.
caulfield12
Just fortunate they werent facing one of the better teams with numerous offensive threats from the RH side. Other than the Mets and Angels (other than Trout), the perfect opportunity to give him some extra rest.

They didn't pay him 48 million to wear out his arm in the first two months of the deal. It's ok to give a guy rest sometimes, especially when he has been a little more hittable and less sharp recently.

caulfield12
I think anyone would take 2/3 based on our history of horrors out there. This pitching match-up isnt favorable either, but o.co is a better stadium for a flyball pitcher like Danks..especially at night.
South Side Fireworks Man
Since they decided to use instant replay, why don't they have automated ball & strike calls? There are more bad calls at the plate than there ever have been in the field.

Chris Sale
Awful call to strike out Eaton. Abreu's ability to muscle inside pitches never ceases to imperss me, but I wish Cabrera and LaRoche tried a bit harder to work counts in their favor.
fathom
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 17, 2015 -> 01:11 AM) Melky has been a disappointment to me Needs to start getting more extra base hits and hitting LHP. 2 doubles and a HR on the season is troubling. Jerksticks
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 16, 2015 -> 08:11 PM) Melky has been a disappointment to me While I think he's going to end up being a good hitter for us, I can't for the life of me wrap my head around why he doesn't take AT LEAST 2 pitches before he swings. Why isn't that being demanded? How does a 1 pitch AB help the ball-club
CaliSoxFanViaSWside
QUOTE (Chris Sale @ May 16, 2015 -> 06:13 PM) Awful call to strike out Eaton. Abreu's ability to muscle inside pitches never ceases to imperss me, but I wish Cabrera and LaRoche tried a bit harder to work counts in their favor. Despite his batting average LaRoche has a pretty good on base percentage . He draws a fairly decent amount of walks and last night the count was 2-0 when he got that bases loaded double.
