Feeky Magee
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 20, 2015 -> 09:40 PM) If you don't believe in Petricka or Putnam, why are they even on the roster? Just for mop up? Does Ventura even look at the splits for Jennings? You just can't give up 3 runs in that inning. As Farmer and DJ always say, runs scored by the opposition from the 7th inning on have a way of coming back to bite you in the end. That was especially the case tonight. And Conor's got to be a bit more patient in that situation. The pressure's 100% on the pitcher. Same with Avi. Especially when Putnam has been killing it, I sure hope he wasn't just looking at Putnam's ERA. And yeah, I really get the feeling that Jennings was still in because he was a lefty, ignoring both his own and Brantley's reverse splits.
pettie4sox
Jennings just wasn't throwing strikes tonight. He walked guys and got into hitter counts and just failed. You can't really crucify anyone. STOP f***ING WALKING PEOPLE.
Feeky Magee
QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ May 20, 2015 -> 09:39 PM) No need to overreact, Shuck has performed for the team in his limited role, he just had a bad at bat. Has he? He's hit .240/.296/.240 with negative rated defence. This following a season with the Angels where he hit .145/.168/.209 (albeit with a horrendously unlucky BABIP). caulfield12
Almost wishing we had Jordan Danks up there, but he undoubtedly would have struck out as well. At least we might have had one of his random shining moments, a walk-off grand slam or something....if he just closed his eyes, picked a location and swung. fathom
Starting pitching has really picked it up, but still way too many defensive miscues (Jennings throwing it away cost Sox the game) and offense is still struggling to put together good at bats. Oh well, let's split the series tomorrow.
caulfield12
QUOTE (fathom @ May 20, 2015 -> 09:51 PM) Starting pitching has really picked it up, but still way too many defensive miscues (Jennings throwing it away cost Sox the game) and offense is still struggling to put together good at bats. ronkark
Well two days at and above .500 were nice but it's back under. 6 runs in 3 games for the offense - a joke. Tribe 3-3 Stolen Bases. Sox 0-0. Sox 7-18 on the season with Vince Coleman on staff. They have successfully tuned him out. The league leader has 43. Flowers 7-23 throwing out runners. Soto 1-8. Awful. Rodon needs to throw strikes. It's becoming a trend. also Carlos Sanchez's next walk will be his first. ugh.

Soxfest
Shaun Marcum picked up his first win in two years he was 1-10 with the Mets in 2013 and J. Ramirez was hitting .185 with an ugly .237 OBP before reaching four times tonight This happens to the Sox way too often. greg775
QUOTE (Dizzy Sox @ May 21, 2015 -> 04:41 AM) the winning streak already feels like a really long time ago... The board has some perceptive people. It sure does. Won six in a row. Lost two ... and counting? We gonna give all six back? QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 21, 2015 -> 04:55 AM) "Oh well" sounds like the perfect marketing slogan/tagline for Sox fandom these days. Amen, brother. That's what we have done as fans for several years in a row now. "It's still early" you know? QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 21, 2015 -> 05:15 AM) Shaun Marcum picked up his first win in two years he was 1-10 with the Mets in 2013 and J. Oh well, we're only one below .500 which is this team's ceiling. Edited May 21, 2015 by greg775
