Whatever happened to getaway day games? I have a rare Thursday afternoon with no meetings scheduled and I could have been filling the time with baseball instead of actual work.

They usually do that for the benefit of the road team as a courtesy...and then it's returned back.

The Indians are an hour flight away from being home. If they had a west coast game tomorrow, today would be a day game.

They should be doing it for ME as a courtesy.

You still could be doing that; there are six day games today.

I went to the game last night, now 0-5, and got a ball from a Abreu. I was sitting first row and the guy a few seats over was adamant that Abreu was trying to give him the ball. He pestered me about it for 5 minutes. This man was > 30 years old and brought a catchers mitt to the game so he could catch a foul ball. If you are this guy and you are lurking on SoxTalk please, ditch the catcher's glove.

Maybe he should of wandered over to the bullpen and helped warm up the pitchers.

Who does that. Whoever catches the ball catches the ball.

If the Sox lose 3 out of 4 at home to Cleveland, that's really really bad. It's almost as bad as losing four of four at Minnesota. What is with this team? Are they really gonna give back three games of the six-game win streak to a s*** team? Must win tonight.

Right? He came up to me and said, "that's my ball" and I looked at all my friends and two were cracking up and my one mature friend said "don't" because he knew nothing good could come of it. I just told him unless a kid walks up in the next few minutes it's my ball. Then he went back to his seat and started saying I should have to buy him a beer and "that's how we do it here." It was the 8th inning and I said if he grabbed a beer man I would buy him a beer. Gotta love a thirty something year old man who comes to the game by himself with a catcher's glove telling me "how we do it" at the Sox stadium.

Yeesh was he drunk or just a chode?

Once they got to 18-17, I don't think it's much to ask for them to come home from the long trip at 26-26. So it's not a must win, but at least go 8-7 the next 15.

Truthfully, a nice 5-game winning streak wouldn't suck right now.

Pitching coach Don Cooper will miss Fri-Sat games to attend a family graduation. Bobby Thigpen temporarily moves from 'pen to dugout.

Thigpen was my favorite Sox player growing up. :gosoxretro:

It's not like Coop does anything anyway. :P
