I could not agree more. This franchise is sorely in need of that new vision you mentioned, a house cleaning, as you suggested, and an overall new strategy. What Reinsdorf has employed during the last 35 years just hasn't worked, it's left our fan base dormant, and completely wasted the potential of a big market ball club.

If this season tanks, it's going to be quite difficult for the organization to get fans excited again heading into a season. I don't think we can assume they will spend a fortune every offseason like they just did.

I think many Bulls fans will tell you the same thing. The org has become stale.

Given those circumstances, I cannot see how fans get excited at all. I hate it as a Sox fan.

Let's be careful on how we classify the spending of this past offseason. Saying they spent "a fortune" can maybe suggest to some that they went above and beyond. They certainly did not. They had a ton of money come off the books with trades and expirations of other contracts, so they took that money to obtain players to replace the ones that went away. But at the end of the day, our payroll is only in the middle of the pack in MLB, and only slightly ahead of that of the small market Twins and Royals.

Time to wonder is Minn going to sweep again against the hitless wonders.

Sox have big 3 going. If they get swept, then the season is just about over. Can't be falling 8-10 games behind excellent KC and Detroit teams.

I'm not too far from losing all allegiance to the Sox and rooting for someone else. Real changes need to be made well above the 25 man roster. The only way those changes are made is if death is involved. Who has that kind of patience anymore? Changes are then replaced with former Sox retreads.

I think this is why attendance is so bad, I do not blame a fan at this point. Fans can only eat a s*** sandwich so long .

White Sox Baseball is all suffering. You should have known that going in.

Edit: I also cheer for the Blue Jays for that reason. The two franchises are eerily similar in terms of depression and falso hopes.

And that was "only" about a 2,000 fan uptick.

I don't think adding Giancarlo Stanton would do anything to move the meter at this point. It would be like the year they signed Belle and had a tepid response (98 I think).

Along with Melky, the biggest (immediate) concern has to be getting Rodon's control and change-up developed. If you want to add Flowers or 2B to the list, Danks, the entire bullpen in front of Duke/Robertson, have at it.
