greg775
QUOTE (fathom @ May 24, 2015 -> 08:09 PM) If Dodgers want to give the sox Seager and Urias, then sign me up. Better yet, those 2 guys plus 3 more. Seriously, it's time for a killer deal if we trade Sale. A difference making deal for the Sox future. Sox Fan In Husker Land
Everyone on this team should be available to be traded. If the Sox traded Sale or Quintana, for some great non-pitcher prospects do you think they could develop them into anything good? Who is the last good non-pitcher that we have drafted, went through the minors with, and had be a good major league player, Rowand? Since Aaron Rowand was drafted in 1998 here is a list of all the White Sox Hitters, drafted and signed by the Sox, that have a positive career WAR: 2000: Mike Morse 4.3 2001: Chris Young 15.8 2001: Chris Stewart 3.2 2002: Jeremy Reed 2.0 2003: Ryan Sweeney 6.5 2004: Dony Lucy 0.2 2005: Chris Getz 1.7 2005: Chris Carter 1.7 2008: Gordon Beckham 7.0 2008: Brent Morel 0.5 2011: Marcus Semien 2.
flavum
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 24, 2015 -> 03:10 PM) I don't know. I want a proven difference maker. Why stupid? LaRussa has to hate retirement; ditto Leyland. These guys can get the dysfunction out of the Sox! LaRussa is a Diamondbacks executive. Leyland is happily retired. Both are in their 70's and don't want to manage anymore. Stop mentioning their names.

If that happens you might as well relocate this team In another thread we've got people talking about how this is a terrible, bandwagon fanbase that will not come out to support the team. They've got the great sweetheart deal to keep them in the ballpark for the next 10 years, but if this fanbase is so terrible...

At this time they should be listening to offers on everybody. 68k showed up to witness this s*** show. I was there tuesday thursday friday....they duped me again. Doesn't mean I want it to happen, or it should happen, but that's not a franchise killing move. Yeah but Sale is one of the only two marketable players on this team. They aren't going to trade him. I think they'll probably have a positive record and creep closer to .500 because they're going to keep themselves in that netherworld where they're not competitive for anything but they're not truly far enough out to sell things and fire people. fathom
It wouldn't shock me to hear Q is available at the deadline. He's a good pitcher on a great contract, but if you can bring in a starting position player and a good prospect, then it could make sense.

They aren't going to trade him. Not with the abysmal attendance figures and low popularity in the city. They're not successfully marketing the team as it is! They're losing games, they're getting no attention in the city, no one cares. Plus it's not like he's out there pitching like a cy young competitor! People aren't coming to see this team and no one is interested. "But if you trade sale people won't come to see the team and no one will be interested!". So what exactly would be different? If they are looking to rebuild and trade veterans, then one of them should be dealt.

Not with the abysmal attendance figures and low popularity in the city. I bet there are a lot of people like me. Now that all the 05 guys are long gone and it's a new group of players, I have no attachment to any of them. So trade any or all of 'em if it makes us better, except Abreu (maybe Sale). Balta1701
QUOTE (fathom @ May 24, 2015 -> 04:16 PM) It wouldn't shock me to hear Q is available at the deadline. He's a good pitcher on a great contract, but if you can bring in a starting position player and a good prospect, then it could make sense. He's not pitching well enough to convince anyone to give up what he should demand based on his performance the last 2 years. Too many teams will think his 2014 was a fluke and he's an average pitcher like he is this year.

Fathom, you can't 'go for it' with a defense this putrid. They aren't winning anything and I would think they'll FINALLY figure out you have to catch the ball and throw the ball and start to rebuild.
