Chris Sale
This is Wright's third major league start. He hasn't allowed a run yet.
GGajewski18
So do the Sox move to a 6 man rotation with Sale, Shark, Q, Danks, Rodon and Beck? Or do they just alternate the starts of Rodon and Beck?
southsider2k5
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ May 28, 2015 -> 03:40 PM) So do the Sox move to a 6 man rotation with Sale, Shark, Q, Danks, Rodon and Beck? Or do they just alternate the starts of Rodon and Beck? Beck won't stay here long, I would bet. I would imagine he is sent back tomorrow. fathom
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ May 28, 2015 -> 08:42 PM) So then, why not start Carroll? To see what they have with him? They've probably seen enough from Carroll to know his future is as a long reliever. Edited May 28, 2015 by fathom
Balta1701
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 28, 2015 -> 04:41 PM) Beck won't stay here long, I would bet. I would imagine he is sent back tomorrow. Presumably then you're guessing Webb stays up?
southsider2k5
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 28, 2015 -> 03:46 PM) Presumably then you're guessing Webb stays up? He makes more sense then Beck right now. Once Beck pitches he won't be available for five days. Unless Webb goes 3-4 innings, he will be available in a day or two. Beck creates a dead roster spot for 4 full days. Team could use another righty set-up man.

Chris Beck added to the roster for Game 2. It's about time. Plenty of pitchers having good years in Charlotte - see what they can do. LittleHurt05
QUOTE (raBBit @ May 29, 2015 -> 10:51 AM) I get that Caroll Noesi is both funny and seemingly a great human being, but some people here have the most inflated view of him. When this team gets real depth next year Scott Caroll Hector Noesi will never be considered as a bullpen option. His future isn't as a long man, his future is most likely bouncing around AAA teams until he calls it quits. Of course I could see a scenario where the Sox release him and no one picks him up and he just stays in Charlotte until he quits.

I know Carroll doesn't have any ceiling to speak of, but he has done great work in his time as a middle and long reliever. I wouldn't have thought it before, but I am willing to keep running him out there until he proves otherwise.

Quin
QUOTE (raBBit @ May 29, 2015 -> 11:12 AM) 1.6 WHIPs and 1/1 K to BB ratios don't typically yield ~3 ERAs. He's been lucky, you keep throwing him out there he will prove otherwise. LH I can't quote you but nobody likes Noesi except Don Cooper so not really the same, aha. Scott Carroll is a top five favorite player on SoxTalk. I just like him for his awesome debut when he was right handed Mark Buehrle for one game. I don't think anyone thinks Carroll is good or part of any meaningful future. Just that he's better than Noesi. Which he is. Noesi is out of options, but whatever, not like he has any future either. Carrolls been lucky this year but he's also pretty damn immune to giving up anything hard hit, complete opposite of Noesi in that regard. If we're playing for this year I'd much rather have Carroll on the team. Long term it doesn't matter since neither should be here.
