This is not necessarily the case. There are many injuries that truly are day to day. The tendonosis and other tendon irritations can't always be predicted. He injures it, there is no structural tears, so they give it a try. That is normal protocol. It didn't improve/got worse that is when you need to rest it for a bit.

in the medical sense, ok.

but i am talking about tweak knees, jammed shoulders, twisted ankles. rest it. take a day or 2 to see how it looks.

i am not talking about ingrown nails in a finger or toes, a sore gluteal muscles for sliding the wrong way.

sports players do not like to be substituted.

Doesn't matter. This is where the Sox are better than other teams. The medical staff has been consistent for decades. They have earned the ability to tell the team when a player should or shouldn't go. I want all players to refuse to come out. That's the competitive nature. This is why you need a manager you will listen to the medical staff.

Each of those issues you listed need to be treated differently and this group has the experience.

i agree and that is why i wrote it that way. i love the competitive nature of the players, but that is why it does take a strong manager to step up and say no, take a seat you are coming out.

that is another reason i asked, was it Avi telling RV he can continue. no one knows that answer. listening to the medical staff is one thing, making a decision based on the sake of the team is another.

oh well, i guess with can keep going in circles here. i will never disagree with you on the medical side.

thanks.

Stone's description - out today, said Abreu originally injured it during batting practice then reaggrivated it, Stone got to take a look at it today and still noticeably swollen.

Hopefully 3 days off in a row will help. If not sit him again

Good. Anyone think Robin should mess around with the order a bit this series?

No. They are starting to hit, and really haven't had their full line up in for a little bit with Avi being out, then Abreu.

As soon as they have a game scoring 5+ runs against someone without two different names (Roberto Hernandez/Fausto Carmona)....then we can start getting (somewhat more) excited.

If not for the Feldman injury, his final start in the rotation would have been yesterday against the Sox.

I wouldnt mind seeing Garcia slotted into the 3 hole and moving Abreu to 4 and LaRoche to 5. I think that would present them some nice scoring opportunities, especially with LaRoche seemingly starting to come around.
