The key for him (Rodon) is getting to the slider in a strikeout count, as he currently lacks the fastball command to get ahead of hitters on a more consistent basis -- and thus the 22 walks in 34⅔ innings. Batters are hitting just .132 against the slider, whiffing 27 times in 63 plate appearances ending with that pitch. But they're hitting .368 against his fastball, with more walks than strikeouts.

His BB's has dropped a ton the last two starts.
