caulfield12
http://espn.go.com/blog/sweetspot/post/_/i...open-al-central The key for him (Rodon) is getting to the slider in a strikeout count, as he currently lacks the fastball command to get ahead of hitters on a more consistent basis -- and thus the 22 walks in 34⅔ innings. Batters are hitting just .132 against the slider, whiffing 27 times in 63 plate appearances ending with that pitch. But they're hitting .368 against his fastball, with more walks than strikeouts. fathom
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 6, 2015 -> 12:41 AM) His BB's has dropped a ton the last two starts. He's been incredible. Not a lot of hard hit balls against him.
reiks12
368 against his fastball? Wow I wouldn't have guessed that. Although when you are 2-0 3-0 a lot as Rodon has been early on then it makes sense I guess.
YouCanPutItOnTheBoardYES!
QUOTE (reiks12 @ Jun 5, 2015 -> 10:38 PM) 368 against his fastball? Wow I wouldn't have guessed that. Although when you are 2-0 3-0 a lot as Rodon has been early on then it makes sense I guess. It's a pretty soft .368 IMO. He gives up a ton of broken bat hits and ducksnorts. He's only thrown 1 homer so far which is nice.
