Jose Abreu
Prior to today's game, the #WhiteSox placed Dan Jennings on the 15-day disabled list and purchased the contract of Junior Guerra.

southsider2k5
This also gives the Sox a legit long man again.
Chicago White Sox
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 7, 2015 -> 10:13 AM) This also gives the Sox a legit long man again. I would definitely DFA Noesi as soon as other options (Albers?) are available. Don't need two long guys in the pen and quite frankly Carroll is better suited for the role than Noesi if we did want two for some reason. YouCanPutItOnTheBoardYES!
This is probably one of those phantom DL stints. I doubt Jennings is really injured. The Sox probably realize that Jennings is awful, but they don't want to expose him to waivers.
BlackSox13
Maybe the time off will do Jennings some good, no doubt it will help the Sox. Looking forward to seeing what Jr has to offer the pen.
Jake
I can't help but think about what a day this must be for Junior Guerra. This guy had little legitimate hope of pitching in an affiliated minor league this season, let alone making a major league team. This is the kind of thing that, at age 30, he probably no longer even dreamed of. I hope he sticks around long enough to get pension, some great experiences, and whatever other benefits conferred to major league ballplayers. daggins
If Guerra ends up pitching well Jennings will probably be optioned. He needs some work on his control anyways. Or he's just bad. Hopefully not.
The Ginger Kid
I thought Noesi would get DFA'd after he totally f***ed up that great stab by LaRoche by slacking off on getting to first. To me, that was an opportunity to send a message.
Balta1701
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 7, 2015 -> 12:59 PM) I thought Noesi would get DFA'd after he totally f***ed up that great stab by LaRoche by slacking off on getting to first. To me, that was an opportunity to send a message. 1. This team doesn't send messages. 2. Like it or not, we need someone on the roster to "throw 5 innings 1-2 times a month when we give Rodon the day off".
southsider2k5
Dan Hayes @CSNHayes 52m52 minutes ago So far on his rehab, Dan Jennings has allowed two earned runs in four innings with five strikeouts. #WhiteSox
