Dick Allen
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 8, 2015 -> 06:56 PM) Would be something the sox f***ed the cubs over two straight years in picks. (although Schwaber looks really good) Apparently they like Fulmer alot. Payback for when the Cubs drafted Mike Harkey who the Sox wanted so they had to settle for Jack McDowell, and the time the Cubs looking for a 3B for years drafted Ty Griffin so the Sox had to settle for Robin Ventura with the next pick. southsider2k5
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 8, 2015 -> 07:00 PM) Can we please put Fulmer and Rodon on the top of SoxTalk instead of Samardzija? At least Rodon... Sure... get to work on the banner.
beautox
QUOTE (Mike F. @ Jun 8, 2015 -> 06:59 PM) Sale/Q/Rodon/Fulmer/Someone Else I love it. Danish/Montas/Adams...whomever now we just need to develop some hitters.
bmags
Cubs loaded up on college bats, they are great at developing them. I hope we stick to our college arms thing as well.

Feeky Magee
Wow, Happ's stats are insane. Hopefully not another Schwarber. Love what the bastard Cubs are doing.
SoxAce
Really wish the sox stayed patient but how did they know Melky and others would bomb. (so far) We desperately need to continue to replenish our system especially picking this high.
DirtySox
I have a soft-spot for short starting pitchers. Sonny Gray, Marcus Stroman etc. Finally have one to call my own.

caulfield12
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jun 8, 2015 -> 06:02 PM) Cubs get best hitter in the draft who was sitting there for us. Although some were arguing Benintendi...but it's hard to know since that guy came out of seemingly nowhere as well. Then there's Tucker with all the Williams/DiMaggio comparisons. Thad Bosley
So chances are we will see Fulmer in Sept? That's the plan?

SoxAce
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 8, 2015 -> 07:00 PM) Everyone is happy about this pick which only means one thing: bust. Just kidding. Glad we got someone everyone wanted in the first place Last time soxtalk posters were all in agreement with a pick? Carlos Rodon.
maggsmaggs
In three years, the Sox will have a loaded pitching staff. The question is, will we have any sort of offense? :/

caulfield12
QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 8, 2015 -> 06:03 PM) Wow, Happ's stats are insane. Hopefully not another Schwarber. Love what the bastard Cubs are doing. There's not a lot of certainty about his defensive position....like Bryant (who's doing fine), Schwarber and Baez. Could be 3B, 2B or a corner outfielder. Maybe 1B, but unlikely with Rizzo ensconced there. I don't think any prospect's going to be excited about comparison with Mark McLemore, Harold. Well, the Lincecum comparisons are going to be interesting to track as we monitor how long Sale/Rodon/Fulmer stay healthy. daa84
Fulmer is not the sure thing Rodon was IMO. I would put a more realistic expectation of early to mid 2017 on his time frame as a starter. Maybe end of 2016 as a reliever.
