Source: The price tag that got Carl Albert's Corey Zangari to the White Sox and away from #okstate was more than $500,000. #okpreps

That is quite a big tag, they must really think highly of him. Hopefully he turns out to be as nice of a surprise as Trey M.

Just letting you guys know that the #7 pick is Blake Hickman. ;)

I hate spell check too. :D

Anyway. Great work on the draft posting all the draft info. Well done!

Thanks for that, I fixed it. The list should be fully up to date. If anyone sees signing news good or bad, please post it here so we can update the list!

The Sox seriously drafted a Reinsdorf? lol

He wouldn't have been drafted had it not been for his name. It sucks that a more deserving player didn't get a chance because of that.

For me, it's an eyeroll and move on. But really, I'd rather they just make it 30 rounds that count, and everyone else is a free agent. These token picks in the late rounds are stupid.

Last pick in the draft though, who cares.

You never know though, sometimes you can find a diamond in the rough in the later rounds. I hate to just waste a pick for nothing.

It would be different if the Sox were the only ones who did it. Heck he wasn't even the only owners kid drafted yesterday. That isn't even getting into all of the coaches kids drafted, etc.

After the White Sox selected Carey Schueler, they actually drafted 3 guys who played in the major leagues, including Placido Polonco who put up over a 41 WAR for his career. He didn't sign.

That also was when draft and follow was still a thing. The draft rules have completely changed since the one example you can find going back to 1993.
