Jordan Stephens said yesterday he was headed here to do physical and sign. Now looks like he's officially done it.

By the way, you guys are doing all this digging up and posting, a lot of it is in the Tracker already. But if you find anything that isn't, please do post it, and we'll update - thanks!

I commented on two because they weren't bolded in the first post.

Oh, you mean the one on here? OK I was talking about the Draft Tracker on Future Sox. I haven't been maintaining the one in here. People can just follow the link to the blog so its in one place for SoxTalk as well as the rest of the audience. But if someone wants to update the OP in here, feel free!

I was using a standard of seeing something that either said they were signing/had signed or had agreed to terms.

They wouldn't post that they were on the White Sox if they weren't signing, I think.

Most of these guys will sign no doubt, and all seem very excited about it, but I was looking for at least a solid indicator that they had at least agreed to terms. If you want to update the OP for these, feel free.

Lassiter said he would fly to Arizona on Thursday for a physical and to sign his contract. From there he'll receive his minor league assignment, and Lassiter thinks he might be bound for Montana, at least to start. The White Sox have a Rookie League team in Great Falls.

As picks come in, they will go here, as well as of course on the Draft Tracker on Future Sox.

Players still alive in postseason baseball will be highlighted in green

Players that have signed or have said they will sign will be in bold.

Players who are confirmed as NOT signing will be in red.

40 (1192): Joseph Reinsdorf, 2B, 5-11, 148, L-R, New Trier HS (Ill.)

How do you know he isn't signing? ;)

What is the point of the Reinsdorf draft? Like he's not signing and surely everyone knows it's a nepotism pick, so what gain is there? Is it the hope that some college sees "draft pick by the White Sox" on his CV and doesn't recognise the name? It might be a 0.001% chance that your 40th round pick does anything for you in the majors, maybe unlikely you even want to sign anyone at that point because of numbers, but I'm not seeing the advantage even for the Reinsdorf kid in the pick.

Its like winning a Dundy, but in baseball.

I personally think its silly too, though other teams do it. And its not a huge deal, as long as its at the very back end of the draft. The KW Jr pick in the 6th round years back, now that was just assinine and I hated that one.

Winning a dundy? And no, it's not a huge deal, I just don't get where the advantage is even for the kid.

When I was a kid, I certainly wouldn't want it. I wouldn't want people going, oh well, he only got drafted because of his dad. I'd want people to say, man, he earned it (and if I didn't, oh well).

I think it has more to do with the experience. He is probably going to play for a little while so he sees what it's like and what the other ballplayers are like. Then he will transition out of the playing side and into a front office or scouting.

I don't think he was actually on the baseball team. That is at least my understanding.

There is no point. It means nothing. Well actually it probably means that the draft is still too long if these types of picks are happening.

Right. It's just a way for him to get to understand the entire business. Like an executives kid starting in the mailroom even though everyone knows he will be an executive soon.

Oh okay. This makes sense.
