OmarComing25
QUOTE (Mike F. @ Jun 12, 2015 -> 07:00 PM) He was ineffective half of the time even when he was in his prime. That's just not true. In his prime he was a very good #2 pitcher.

ChiSoxFanMike
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jun 12, 2015 -> 07:04 PM) That's just not true. In his prime he was a very good #2 pitcher. That's debatable. OmarComing25
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 12, 2015 -> 07:06 PM) #3 on his best day. The extension from KW should of never happened. Danks was 19th in WAR among starting pitchers from 2008-2010. A top 20 pitcher in baseball is not a #3. He was deserving of the extension. Not his fault he got an injury that no one has successfully come back from. You guys are underrating him here. WAR might not be the be-all to end-all stat, but he was no worse than a #2 pitcher during those 3 seasons. Condor13
The problem ain't danks, he needs to be DFA and released immediately, but he is definitely not the problem. The problem is this garbage lineup that is supposedly our starting lineup. Conor is not a serviceable player at 3B, Sanchez is not ready for the big leagues (his bat) and in his career flowers is batting like .210, and the big names are all way underachieving. Sox should have 3-4 runs by now off this AAA pitcher. But not with these players. If you can't score 4 runs in the majors your not gonna win many games

The Ginger Kid
He's only given up 2 runs in 4 IP. Makes no difference if the offense can't hit this AAA sub.

I disagree he was solid #3 and they could of waited on a extension, no rush he was under team control 2 more years before extension.
ChiSoxFanMike
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jun 12, 2015 -> 07:17 PM) No he wasn't, he was our best. Floyd was a bit overrated that year. Judging by the numbers, Floyd wasn't. Danks had a 12 wins that year, Floyd had 17. Wins aren't necessarily indicative of talent either, but Floyd had 5 more wins than Danks that year. Tyler Flowers sucks balls, on an unrelated note.

There were not 50-60 pitchers better than him during that time (which is what a #3 would be). If he hadn't gotten hurt the extension would have been fine.
