Here's how this works. Just make a list of the guys that won't be in a White Sox uniform by Opening Day 2016 that are currently on the team. When that time comes, we can see how close we were to our predictions.

My guesses are:

- Tyler Flowers

- Alexei Ramirez

- Carlos Sanchez

- Junior Guerra

- Hector Noesi

- John Danks

- Emilio Bonifacio

Alexei needs to be back, even if it for playing SS. i still think he is improving.

re-Danks, ahhhh lets not forget the length of his contract?

the owners should suck it up and pay him and put him in some extended d/l. but they won't do that, b/c of what the cost of his salary.

Assuming the season continues on its trajectory -

Alexei Ramirez - option declined

Emilio Bonifacio - option declined

Geo Soto - Not re-signed this offseason

Gordon Beckham - Not re-signed

Hector Noesi - DFA, released

Matt Albers - Not re-signed

JB Shuck - waivers, claimed

Jeff Samardzija - FA, comp pick

Gillaspie - Non-tendered, FA

i was wondering about that one, then again who will replace him??

I have no idea. We have lots of catchers and none of them are earning the spot. That does suggest they might offer arb just to have someone in the role to see how it goes.

don't get me wrong, making this list is part of the problem that sox has, but to who to replace them with. it kind of goes with the other thread, where there is a discussion of trading players.

unless the sox invest in a catcher via FA, i just don't see this position being improve for at least 2 more yrs.

i guess it kind of goes with someone in the sox org, seeing the priorities in signing FA or even drafting. this catching position should have been address sometime in 2012 or 2013. if not earlier.

Actually with Flowers, they might non tender him and try to re-sign him. He might be worth ~2M but he definitely isn't worth 4.

there is no freaking way he is worth 4 mil.

however to pull that bluff, the sox better have an option ready, to replace him if he doesn't want to come back.

Bluff ? There's been a lot of options the last few years the Sox coud've picked up off the scrap heap who could be just as effective as Flowers.
