Does Sale deserve better?

In watching Sale's HISTORICALLY good run the thought keeps running through my head that he deserves better than this. I am almost never in favor of trading top line pitching, especially top line pitching that is young and cost controlled for several years but this kid is pitching his ass off and gets almost nothing in terms of support. (as I write this Robertson gives up a hit blowing the save and ruins another amazing start from Chris)

You never trade a dollar for four quarters, but it seems to me that Sale should be moved so his talent doesn't go to waste on another go nowhere Sox team, and this team is going nowhere. Wouldn't you like to see him pitching in the playoffs?? I know I would and I think he deserves it. Let him go to a competitive team and we stock the minors and build for the future.

This team has a guy with the potential to be one of the best pitchers of all time and they can never manage to give him more than one f***ing run of support.

Stevenson and Robin need to be fired now. Hire Bud Black and Thom for all I care. Don't care if it's in org. Heads need to roll.

Yes - for the White Sox. Otherwise, I wouldn't much care.

Boo hoo -Carlton had one of the great seasons in MLB history on a 55 win team. King Felix is looking for his first, what, playoff appearance?

That's the thing. People need to be sacrificed...even if the Sox are terrible the whole year...actually doing something shows that you care about the situation. Going through every game without benching players or making roster changes or firing the staff responsible for making sure this sort of play doesn't happen, is ridiculous. No other team in the MLB sits on their hands and does nothing... Every team has heads piling up off the chopping block...but not the sox, everyone's coddled with kids gloves and I'm sick of it. Sox need new everything starting from top down.

Hahn should look into trading him this offseason. I don't think he should trade Sale, but he should see what kind of offers he gets.

After 2016, if the Sox are still staffed by corpses with hats, then yeah, trade him.

What can you possibly get?

If the Cubs came calling for Sale, what would you want in return? They have a ton of talent.

Chris Sale signed his contract. The end.

He's not really moveable because

1) teams overvalue their prospects

2) Sox would ask for an enormous amount of young talent in return for the 3rd pitcher in a century to have 12 Ks in 5 straight games.

Exactly. A Chris Sale trade won't be happening anytime soon.

The one guy they aren't going to give up. You know which name that is.

Bryant, Russell, Edwards, Alcantara and Vogelbach.

I don't even care how insane that deal sounds because Chris Sale's cost is unprecedented.

That's a great trade for both teams, but from a marketing perspective, the Cubs can't pull it off. But I agree with you. That's why you don't move a staff Ace. Anything less than Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, or Schwarber and Russel is too little.

Schwarber / Russell / McKinney/ a couple pitchers

That would probably do it for me.

Problem is, if I'm the Cubs, the bold is a deal breaker. Russell is the read deal and Baez looks like a flop.

That's right now, mind you, and its not a realistic proposal

Again, re-assess after 2016, and it becomes more realistic.

The Cubs would do that in a heart beat.

I'm also taking into consideration that once word that Sale is on the market gets out, the price raises again.

Well if the Cubs don't want to part with talent then they aren't getting the best pitcher on the planet.

Well, I'm sorry, but they are going to have to give a "real deal" to get Chris Sale. Maybe 3-4 real deals.
