More shocking event in Chicago, Jaromir Jagr scores a goal or Bartolo Colon wins a LCS clincher? It's like I'm a teenager again.

Solid win today. The D men are still scary but the top two lines came to play. Kaner is a great match for the Russians and one of these days 19 and 81 will find a line mate to score a goal with, but they are playing well

Kind of amazing that Jagr can still be a productive hockey player at 43. Imagine if he hadn't lost the 04-05 season or gone to the KHL for 3 years. He could realistically have 800-825 goals right now.

I was looking at his stats last night in wonderment.

Then I also thought about how old I was when he scored 60+ goals and said "f***, those were the days!"

The second line is good but I sometimes wonder if you just have Kane on the top line and have the second line all Russian/Latvian.

I also have really liked Garbutt more since he came over as it appears he's buying into his speed game instead of constant cheap shots. The defense is going to need to add a player at some point but I think we let them play to see who we can keep. Offensively I dont think we are going to have issues.

A lot of people are concerned about the D but to me, once Keith gets back and Daley starts playing like Q wants him to, there won't be issues. It's the 3rd and 4th lines that I'm concerned about. It's no secret that Desjardins/Kruger/Shaw aren't out there to score, but the Teuvo/Hinostroza/Garbutt line is a train wreck. Garbutt is a 4th line player and Hinostroza isn't a pro quite yet. Teuvo is going to be a great player but unfortunately he's surrounded by guys like Garbutt, Hinostroza, Desjardins, Shaw and Bickell for now. If they want more production out of the 3rd line, I think eventually Panarin gets flip-flopped with Teuvo.

It'll help when Dano returns. I keep thinking he might have suffered a concussion but there's not even a hint that happened.

I hope not given that they have let him play all 6 games for Rockford. Two simple reasons why they sent him down

1. He's not even 21 yet (just like Teuvo last year)

2. His contract makes it easy to send him down with little consequence unlike other players. I think the two Russians can opt out for the KHL if the Hawks tried to send them to Rockford.

What two Russians? Only Panarin has that clause. Anisimov is an established pro & Tikhonov has done nothing to make me care if he goes to Rockford, Russia or the UC's press box.

Dano hasn't exactly been good in Rockford. If he keeps that up he won't be up this year at all.

I thought Tikhonov & Panarin both had the clause, but maybe just Panarin. I'm not saying Tikhonov has been good, but it makes sense why the organization might give him more time at the NHL level instead of Dano right now, even if Dano might contribute more.

He'll be back especially if Q can't find anyone to put with Toews and Hossa. The first few days of training camp Dano shined with Toews and Hossa and Q liked him right away but then the preseason games started and in the 1st game he took a hard hit to the head and after that he couldn't keep up with Toews and Hossa.

Maybe I'm making excuses for the kid but on a playoff Columbus team he was physical and a good 2 way player . We often forget guys play through injuries. Once he gets his sea legs back under him he should spend at least half the year with the Hawks.
