Happens every year after a longer road trip. They get home and set in cruise control. It happens, they have earned it, but when I pick tickets, I try to remember to avoid these periods of the year

Could be worse, they could be the Wild, 8 in a row and their coach is gone

Crazy to think how highly thought of the Wild once were yet they only got to a game 6 one time in 3 attempts against the Hawks in the playoffs. Suter, Brodin, Vanek, and Parise is a nice group but it just goes to show how thankful we should be to watch the Hawks consistently win Cups. It doesn't help Minnesota either that Parise and Suter are both past 30 years old and Dubnyk isn't the guy he was last year.

What the Hawks have done is nothing short of incredible. The more it continues, the harder it becomes to complain about anything going on with that organization. We are fans of a franchise that literally 29 other teams would trade places with right now. It won't get better than this.

and that is a great point, but it is against Tor....

just like anything, fans, esp me, will never be satisfied. but i guess that comes with being a fan and wanting the best all the time. unrealistic, yeah, but it is what it is.

btw, as much as there has been a lot of chatter of players, org wanting to move, i still maintain, no - one will be willing to really help the hawks. bowman is really going to have his hands full.

peace.

7 goals, yikes. 4 points for 88

yeah, i was going to post something last nite at the end of the 2nd period about the game darling is having and the score. but hell, i didn't want to jinx the team and darling.

great game all around, esp for darling. as good of performance kane had, i don't know, i really thought darling should have been #1 or at least #2 star. based on the goal against and the win.

oh well.

If you aren't satisfied with what the Hawks have done in the last decade or so, you might as well give up watching sports.

Agreed. I never expected Chicago to have another dynasty type team when the Bulls broke up.

It's weird that one player can outrun the competition so much. Kane is on pace for 112 points, while the next closest is only 92 points. However, last year the leader was only 87 points, which shows what Kane is doing is just bananas.

The 21% difference between Kane's projected outcome in points vs the 2nd best is the highest differential I can find since Gretzky's 24% besting Brett Hull (163-131) in the 1990-91. That's 25 years.

I wouldn't call it "bananas". If he can break 120, it's really special. Last year's 87 was the lowest in a complete season since the 60s. 110 is a typical number for the scoring championship since the Gretzky days.

Meh.. maybe 28. I don't think the Kings mind their last few years either. ;)

The Kings certainly aren't dissatisfied with their last 6 seasons, but 6 playoff appearances, 14 series wins and 3 cups is still better than 5 playoff appearances, 10 series wins and 2 cups.

Not disagreeing there. Just saying the Kings can at least "not be as jealous" as the other 28 teams.

Yeah that was the most impressive part. He was leading the league in goals AND assists, which is insanely hard.

Erik Karlsson has him in assists with 52 (4 more). But then the 3rd place guy is 7 back of Kane

You cannot compare one season to another. All you can do is compare him against this year's competition. He's having the most statistically significant offensive season in 25 years. That's, by definition, bananas.

Rob Scuderi placed on waivers. If he joins Bickell in Rockford, that's another $950k savings on the cap.

i just saw this on one of those rumors page. this throws me for a loop.

the hawks could not find a partner to trade him???? (rhetorical)

Watching the Dallas-Blues game, Pierre Mcguire just brought up Scotty Bowman as they were talking about coaching, and quickly mentioned Scotty has been at the last two Tampa Bay games scouting......

Damn, they just announced yesterday Stamkos was off the market. That could have been some fun with the salary cap!

PSA for everyone: NHL Center Ice free preview this week. Nothing beats the broadcasts from Canada, if only for the commercials
