Admiring Home Runs

Im sure everybody who saw this game noticed how Maggs and C Lee in particular stood at the plate longer then necessary to watch their Minn. served jacks leave the ballpark. I thought it would end up being a problem, and it seems it already has. Although this quote wasn't in the MLB sites I found it on the AOL sports section:

"It's good we didn't quit, but at the same time those guys are having a lot of fun,'' Twins outfielder Dustan Mohr said. "Every time they hit a home run, they stand in the box for 10 seconds and watch it. I'm kind of getting tired of seeing it.''

I would bet on seeing some kind of action taking towards the Sox tomorrow or Thur. Not only because of the home run glaring but because AJ Piercinski was HBP and retaliation was never taken. We all know Garland would plunk someone in the right situation, but It would be interesting to see if Loaiza would risk delaying his chance for a 20th win at home to back up a team mate.

I don't think there is any question that Loaiza would drill someone if the situation called for it.

I want to see them fight again.

f*** them, Torii Hunter used to do that last year during Sox games.

LOL When they get a dose of their own medicine they start whining in the press. Kinda reminds me about how pissed the press and Flubbs got when Jose Valentin (and he will always be my hero for this) mocked Sham-me's little home run trot after nailing one in the crosstown series.

Carlos absolutely teared da cover of the ball to on that homer. What a way to bring up 100RBI's for the first time ever in his career. It's great to see players just grow and develop into studs, firstly like Maggs did and now what Carlos is doin.

I think Dustan Mohr just became Public Enemy No. 2 to White Sox fans behind Public Enemy No.1 Doug Minetwlaksnlkfnsaols who said the All Star game should have been moved. Hey Dustan, at least this team can hit home runs and oh yeah it's a lot of fun losing ain't it. Maybe da Twinkies should ship ya off to da Tiggies for a few seasons and it'll still be fun losing won't it. Idiot. Let's hope Jon gives him brain damage or sumthin with a fastball.

The HBP of Pierzwhatever was a Buerhle curveball. I don't think that caused a lot of hard feelings. If Minny wants to shake things up, it may not happen until next week.

Don't let that fool you. He hit him on purpose because he didn't want to pitch to him. Remember it was the first pitch and AJ has owned him.

There is no end to the Twin's whining and complaing is there? While I agree that they shouldn't stand there and admire the HR (why give the opponent something to fire them up), but why do they constantly feel the need to run to the press and cry about crap? GROW UP! In regards to the bad call yesterday, they need to realize bad calls have been rampant across the league this year (the Sox can tell them all about them if they want to hear about it).

I'd also be surprised if anything happened the rest of this series. Next week, especially if we sweep, I would expect it. They would love nothing more than for us to be facing NY, Boston and KC minus a player or 2 due to suspension. Cooler heads need to prevail. Sox players, do not fall for the bait. As much as I'd love to kick their asses in a brawl, now is not the time for it. I can't stress that enough.

Pierzynski was 0-2 when MB hit him. AJ may own MB lifetime but was in no way owning MB last night.

And as far as admiring HR's goes, whatever uniform you wear when you do it, it's classless..... although the Sox weren't admiring quite as long as such notables..... namely Bonds, Soso, and Hunter.

However, I think C Lee's "admiring" was more along the lines of..... to borrow a Hawkism here..... "right size, wrong shape." He was watching to see if the ball would stay fair. It was obviously hooking back towards the foulpole in replays.
