I dont blame Alexei. He is aging and becoming a lesser player as most baseball players do. I lean toward blaming management for not trading him when they should have before. He gave us a lot of good years of decent baseball so I am really not angry at either side. But they better find a way to replace him by next year.

or how about finding a way to get him more rest out there? I do understand why they kept him this year, given that they were "going for it".

Ergo...the problem with this season is that management made "going for it" decisions when they shouldn't have.

With Bonifacio, Gillaspie, Sanchez, Ramirez, Beckham, and Saladino all on the roster, Alexei better be sitting out game two.

Stunning to see that list written that way with so many horrible offensive options on one roster

I'm still bewildered as to what the plan is with Saladino. Just going to keep him indefinitely? Are we considering a change at some position--meaning someone is released/optioned--then who? And if not, then what is the point of starting the kid every day for a week of games?

I'm hoping they're going to give him a shot at SS. I can't imagine they have money to fill that position next year while also filling some of the other gaping holes on this roster and he's been a solid defensive SS in the minors. He's got a shot to be a tolerable SS for next year, let's give him that shot.

Bonifacio has one foot out the door if the Sox think Saladino can play at all.

Yes, this has turned out to be true. Its really difficult to argue against management going for it though. As a fan I will probably ALWAYS be on board in going for it.

Will be 15 -26 in division If we lose this game playoff talk is nonsense.

Playoff talk is the Sox curse. Time for the massive firesale of all the guys we acquired last offseason. Get what you can for them and move on.
