ChiSox59
QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 02:54 PM) Chris Sale to the Cubs for Schwarber, Javier Baez, CJ Edwards, Corey Black, and Gleyber Torres. Cubs would still be loaded and have arguably the best pitcher in the game locked up. Would the Cubs be giving up enough? You have a 26 year old that is arguably the best pitcher in baseball and happens to be locked up long-term at great value, how would you ever get his true value? Sox would get a potential all-star catcher, 2 guys rotation ready, a 2B/SS/CF with very good power, and a very good SS prospect for the future. I got through this whole post and became sick to my stomach at the thought of trading Sale. I feel like Quintana wouldn't get the right return since he's not a big name per se, and Shark being a rental wouldn't return a lot. I would be so mad if that trade happened, it wouldn't even be funny. There is 0% that is enough.
GreenSox
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 01:15 PM) Putnam, Avi Garcia, and Erik Johnson to Milwaukee for Carlos Gomez and Neal Cotts 3 young players for another Melky Neal Cotts? GreenSox
QUOTE (shipps @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 03:03 PM) Schwarber might be better than Bryant IMO And he is a lefty bat and possibly at a premium position for that kind of offense Righty bats are more scarce than lefty bats. Remains to be seen if Schwarber can catch. That said, I'm okay with trading Sale for a bunch of elite talent. And after we do that, hire their scouts. greg775
I predict the Sox will stand pat continuing to pretend they are in the race. After KC takes 3 of 4 or all four the fans may give up again but not the front office. Hawk will just say, "Glad to get them out of town now let's forget about that series, strap em up and play some ball." I predict no trades. If there's one deal it will be shipping Shark right at the trade deadline in a very minor transaction (for the Sox). The team that gets him will give us a non prospect or two cause it's so late in the season. It'll be one of the big money teams we send him to for little to nothing. That's IF they trade him which I doubt they will.
shipps
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 03:35 PM) Righty bats are more scarce than lefty bats. Remains to be seen if Schwarber can catch. That said, I'm okay with trading Sale for a bunch of elite talent. And after we do that, hire their scouts. They are scarce for the Whitesox, at least good ones. Thats why I said possibly. He could be a DH however.
Quin
QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 02:54 PM) Chris Sale to the Cubs for Schwarber, Javier Baez, CJ Edwards, Corey Black, and Gleyber Torres. Sox hang up so fast on that deal. No Bryant, Russell or Soler? No Sale. Anyway, I see Samardzjia to Toronto for Jeff Hoffman and Max Pentecost

greg775
QUOTE (BigFinn @ Jul 18, 2015 -> 04:49 AM) Has Ricketts replaced the troughs? Trade proposal: Samardzija and Robertson to the Yankees for RHP Luis Severino, C Gary Sanchez, and 3B Eric Jagielo. It's not going to happen, but a fan can dream. You make a good point ... I do think Shark will wind up a Yankee right before the trade deadline. There's a chance Sox could get KC and NY to bid against each other. Royals want WS crown this year; Shark to the Yanks might hurt KC in the ALDS.

SoxAce
QUOTE (shipps @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 03:03 PM) Schwarber might be better than Bryant IMO Russell is the only one who I can see that could be better, especially as a SS. I'm not like others here who are "Bryant or bust" since it's highly doubtful Jed/Theo would deal him at all. But I'm good with Russell+.
