I'd be all over a Puig/Pederson, Urias, Seager and another top prospect for Sale move.

I still say, if I were able to get those 3 (given Puig's / Pederson's current production), I'd make the move. I'd clearly ask for Barnes but I'd do it for those 3. I wouldn't be happy I was in that position but I think the talent would be worth it.

Last year, I wouldn't have done that deal (or any deal of Sale for comparable talent). This year I would.

What about Sale & Shark to the Dodgers. We know the Dodgers are looking for 2 pitchers and they want at least one of them to be cost-controlled. We have talked Q & Shark, but what about Sale & Shark. Could you get Puig / Urias / Seager / Joc?

I highly doubt it as the Dodgers would be pulling 2 guys from their actual lineup (and not sure how they would fill those offensive holes).

If...if the Dodgers are at all willing to part with all four of those guys in one deal, I am listening.

Do they really need fielders with that pitching staff? Grienke, Sale, Shark, Kershaw.

How has it worked for the White Sox this year? ;)

Seriously, I don't want to minimize how important pitching is, but if you replaced Danks with Kershaw this year, I still don't think we are a playoff team.

Sale's contract is peanuts to Dodgers. They have the money to resign Greinke when he's up. Having a 123 of Kershaw/Sale/Greinke would be just downright stupid. As long as you make it to the playoffs you're golden.

Puig / Urias / Seager / Joc gets you Sale, entirely because of his stupid trade value.

Throw in Samardzija, have to add someone like Barnes. If you're the Sox you could throw Avi or Melky (with cash) to help solidify their outfield.

That starting four in the playoffs basically shuts down anyone in their way.

I'm pretty surprised how much the tide has turned in regards to an openness by Soxtalk posters to moving Sale....seems like this was almost unfathomable to most last year at this time.

I will probably say I led the charge against that opinion last year and now I'm much more open. That's how much of a setback I view the 2015 offseason to be. Last year I thought there was near certainty we could field a competitive team by the start of 2016 with lots of payroll flexibility as well. Now I'm skeptical about 2017, and that forces me to consider alternate options.

But that's really the thing...what has the year really done to change anything? What key contributors have really failed this year in regards to the grand scheme of things?

It's all fantasy/message board fan talk anyway, as I don't think KW/RH would ever actually trade Sale, and the Dodgers would never give up that incredibly risky monster prospect package either.

Most people are against trading him for what they'd actually get for him. I don't think many would be opposed to trading him for Puig, Seager, Joc, and Urias. That'd be a ridiculous package.

To be honest, I know I'm underappreciating him because this team is so bad. I have less joy watching him constantly be forced to pitch a shut out or lose (though it perhaps has made him a better pitcher).

And one that would never happen
