Mr. Showtime
I haven't read everything today, so maybe this was brought up. Any deal involving Colon would require that team taking on Tatis. Who makes 7 million a year, I think that puts the Sox out of the running real quick.
spataro51
From what I have been hearing, that tatis was apart of the deal also. Which in fact would probably knock us out of the race unless we take somebody else in his place like colon and vidro? ya right not in our lifetime. mac9001
Not exactly, if a team puts up a good enough offer, Expos said they'll be willing to give up Vidro instead.

If they can get some team to take Tatis, they will have taken 14 or so million off, and they can keep Vidro.
baggio202
disregaurding salary concerns...unless we were able to move tatis down the line to somebody for some pitching prospects then it wouldnt be wise..can you imagine another infielder for jerry the tinkerer to "tinker "with??? Noboday wants Tatis, so he'd be here. I don't even want to think of him playing over Crede.

No-way in hell I want Tatis on this team. I'd rather roll the dice that either Malone, Diaz, or Stewart become somewhat as good as Colon. witesoxfan
But if all 29 teams turn down a deal for Tatis...then the Expos are stuck with him. Which in turn means that Vidro could be dealt instead. I'm still thinking a Garland, Liefer, Paul, Harris, another minor leaguer and cash for Colon, Vidro and Barret works out real well for us...we take care of their $15 million debt and we get 3 real good players in return...if we could lock Colon up, and then eventually Vidro, that would be very, very good. Soxplosion
OK, we give them Lee, Garland, Harris, Liefer and Malone for Colon, Vidro and Tatis but they keep Barrett and take 5 million of Tatis' 7 million salary. Wed use Tatis as a utility guy or possibly a leftfielder. We could transform Tatis to an outfielder, he has the speed and mobility... DJ SS Vidro 2B Frank DH Maggs RF Koney 1B Tatis LF Crede 3B Rowand CF Kreuter ? C Buerhle Colon Helling ? Ritchie Rauch

Mr. Showtime
Your forgot Wright, Roman. Sox are cheap as hell. One starter only.
Soxplosion
Helling would come cheap. And I dunno, it just seems as tho weve all given up on Wright so I followed the path which I thought everyone else would take.
Guest hotsoxchick1
read my lips... foreget trying to figure out how to move colon here... it aint going to happen.................
witesoxfan
The team hasn't though...just because he had a rough first year doesn't mean the organization has given up on him...we as fans would rather give up Wright than Garland, and you can tell why...age, talent, etc...the only thing Wright has on Garland is stamina, and that is a little factor when it comes to age and talent. zach23
I try not to think about my colon that much. I just eat lots of fiber and hope that everything is ok.
