Jake
QUOTE (reiks12 @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 09:05 PM) Why did Betts jump over the fence? He had no reason to and could have stopped himself or crashed into the wall. I'm so tired of these hotshots trying to get their exposure on Baseball Tonight's web gem segment. If I was the pitcher I'd be LIVID if an outfielder did that to me. I'm pretty sure he did it to avoid crashing into the wall

He could have easily braced himself and then gently hit the padding.

Dick Allen
QUOTE (reiks12 @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 08:05 PM) Why did Betts jump over the fence? He had no reason to and could have stopped himself or crashed into the wall. I'm so tired of these hotshots trying to get their exposure on Baseball Tonight's web gem segment. If I was the pitcher I'd be LIVID if an outfielder did that to me. The the wall that low it is hard to stop. I went flying over a snow fence on a similar play in HS. But in my case it was an out, not a HR. Even a wall that low, the drop on the other side is a lot bigger than you anticipate when you are going over. I've always thought that fence was so dumb.
