Confirmed three-way trade

The Dodgers must be paying all of Morse's salary, because the rebuilding Braves with Freeman at 1B don't have much need for Morse in the OF obviously.

Doubt Puig would be going anywhere without Teheran, because Wood's given up quite a few more hits than IP and has a relatively pedestrian 3.54 ERA in the NL.

LA surely thought about Price/Hamels/Samardzija and decided to go with packages that would protect their Top 3-4 prospects instead...while solidifying their bullpen with some additional experience.

It's not a "hey world, look at me" move like the Jays for Tulo, but it's giving you two innings eaters and reliable arms for the back end. Wood's only 24 years old.

That makes a lot more sense, Atlanta has to be getting someone more helpful than Morse when they move Wood.

Olivera's on the OKC DL, but this is clearly a long-term move for them at 3B.

It's crazy how the Dodgers can just go out and stockpile all these Cubans like Olivera, Guerrera and Arruebarrena and then use them as trade chips right and left.

I agree with the premise of your concern, but to fair, hey haven't traded any of those guys yet.

But they have basically purchased several draft picks.

Just to put this whole thing in perspective, the Angels could be facing Clayton Kershaw, Zack Greinke and David Price this weekend.

Reliever Paco Rodriguez reportedly would be going to the Braves and reliever Luis Avilan to the Dodgers as well.

Since the Dodgers already paid Oliver $28 million and $2 million for this year's salary, the Braves would control his rights over the next five years for just $32 million, so the Dodgers just ate $30 million as part of this deal....

I honestly forgot that Olivera was 30 years old. Damn. His numbers is Cuba were absolute pails in comparison to Jose's (obviously a much more premium position, but considering the $$ he got).

Sort of surprised ATL had to give up Peraza in this deal, but I suppose the the Dodgers picking up half of the Olivera's contract (in bonus $), it makes more sense. Still seems a bit steep. I wonder what Braves fans think.

To Dodgers: Wood, Latos, Morse, Avilan, Johnson, Peraza, Arroyo

To Braves: Olivera, Paco, Bird, pick

To Marlins: Brigham, Guzman, Araujo

Holy balls that's a lot of players

The trade makes more sense from ATL's side now that we know the Dodgers are picking up Arroyo's tab. So basically, ATL got Touki in this deal as well.

It is pretty crazy MLB lets the Dodgers throw their dick around like this.
