oneofthemikes
The trade that would shake up Chicago Sale for Castro & Schwarber
lasttriptotulsa
Should have been titled "The Cubs-White Sox Trade That Would Cost Rick Hahn His Job".
Jake
lol If you didn't get Bryant back, which you wouldn't, you'd be walking away from a Sale trade with Schwarber, Russell, and several other guys who aren't just throw-ins.
chitownsportsfan
haha, you can only laugh. Trading Sale for a guy with negative trade value and a guy that projects as a 2-3 WAR LF but that perhaps won't ever reach that ceiling. Nice. chitownsportsfan
QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 01:27 PM) lol If you didn't get Bryant back, which you wouldn't, you'd be walking away from a Sale trade with Schwarber, Russell, and several other guys who aren't just throw-ins. Sale for Russell, Schwarber and Soler I'd think about.
Chisoxfn
I actually think Schwarber might end up the better hitter. So I don't care who the centerpiece of the deal is (between Bryan / Scwarber) but you need to give up a lot more then that. Castro can be part of the deal but if you include him, it is for payroll relief and has no value to negative value in grand scheme of the trade. A package of just Kyle and Castro doesn't work. It does work for Q though (probably not for the Cubs as I presume they aren't that desperate to get rid of Castro's contract).
Jose Abreu
LMAO. Actually laughed. Not only is this the worst proposal ever, but we're also supposedly not selling anymore.

chw42
In what world is this a good trade? lmao
shysocks
Often when my wife or I are surfing Facebook or Twitter and see someone link to something very stupid with no reason to exist, we say to each other, "There are too many websites." This falls into that category.
OmarComing25
So a good trade for us is a shortstop who can't hit or defend and is tied for last in WAR this year and a DH. Awesome.
southsider2k5
Does Chris Sale have a s***tier little brother that we don't know about? Because you sure aren't getting the real Chris Sale for that.
Baron
Castro apparently is a proven commodity now
Knackattack
I wonder if this guy is a Cubs fan...
Bigsoxhurt35
LMAO. Castro sucks. Sale for a s***ty SS and DH? We Alexei Ramirez don't want him. Sale for Bryant, and 4 other prospects.
Jose Abreu
Oh my god. Read the comments. He goes and VEHEMENTLY defends the trade.
Jose Abreu
Author of this article: The interesting thing is I proposed this trade to several Sox fans and not one thought it wasn't a good deal and everyone of them were onboard with it. They didn't like getting rid of Sale, but they loved getting Schwarber, and the odds are that Castro comes back to the back of his baseball card in the future. Bigsoxhurt35
QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 01:03 PM) Castro apparently is a proven commodity now He's s***ty. He can't save runs worth a f***.
Jose Abreu
Here's his explanation, guys. ...because if Sale has an injury, and I would guess he will before his contract is up, the Sox come out much better in the deal. So he's saying make this trade before Sale gets injured. Ok, buddy.
Bigsoxhurt35
This guy is an idiot. At least when I throw trade ideas around they're not dumb and biased. I try to look at it from both teams perspective. This trade is biased and silly.
Bigsoxhurt35
Lol people have been saying if he gets hurt since he was drafted.
chw42
You can't fix stupid. Schwarber might be a 3-4 win player, assuming he isn't an absolute disaster in LF, but Sale is Sale. You don't trade 3 fairly cheap years of a Cy Young candidate for 6 years of a guy who might be an all-star.
Swingandalongonetoleft
QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 01:03 PM) Castro apparently is a proven commodity now Schwarber too, after like 6 games...
Quin
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 02:20 PM) You can't fix stupid. Schwarber might be a 3-4 win player, assuming he isn't an absolute disaster in LF, but Sale is Sale. You don't trade 3 fairly cheap years of a Cy Young candidate for 6 years of a guy who might be an all-star. Four years of cheap Chris Sale. In exchange for a DH and a less likable Alexei Ramirez. Only way the White Sox do this is if there's a stipulation included that Sale can only pitch with his right hand
