Should never have released him, hopefully he has improved his plate discipline

Haha. Doubtful on the plate discipline.

Not sure why he's back here. Don't we have guys at the ML level that can hit .220, not play D, and strikeout a lot?

Here is my text to Eminor3rd:

"The White Sox bring back Viciedo. Of course they do. Can't they ever move on?"

At the end of the day, it's a busted talented prospect who's young and has MLB experience who could be something but....naaaaahhhh.

Well, for now he's not back here, he's down there. He's a Charlotte Knight

I don't know why anyone has their panties in a bunch over this.

One thing I have noticed is the guys Boras holds out. Morales, Drew, Soriano, Viciedo, when they eventually sign, they are just awful. Injured players miss thwt time and many do OK. But these guys were nothing but bad. I know he has them working out at some academy. He better go back to the drawing board, because they are no help.

The Sox have a Cooperstown's full of busts in the last ten years. This is just one of the ones they waited too long on.

Everyone except maybe the Cardinals has a Cooperstown full of busts.

Ravelo. Hitting around .350 in AA.

I like RR and think he's got a good shot to be a really good big leaguer and I'd still hesitate on saying this based on his performance this year. Dude missed 1/2 the season with an injury and he's repeating AA.

Sorry for the bump, but I think it's worth noting he ended up hitting .341 with 7 homers and 20 runs batted in in 36 games for AAA Charlotte.

He's our new DH and 4 OF next year. Playoffs here we come!!

I'm glad he did well, and was surprised he couldn't find major league work this year. But he's a .260BA, 20HR, terrible plate discipline and bad defense. Don't want him.

he has the perfect defense for the dh position.

~~~ edit -- i remember back in the early 90's, i talked to a scout and i asked him has does a player who does really well in the minors offensively, how that transfer over to the majors.
he said on a rule, anywhere from a 20-40 bump from the minor league stat.
so is a player in the minors, hit 300 and they figure anywhere from 250-290 .... however that was back in the 90's.
it probable have change or it is no longer used.
