Dick Allen
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 09:25 PM) So if Avi could finish around 280/320/420 that would be great. At least show some flashes, something Viciedo never managed over a full season. As a 23 year old, Viciedo had a .744 OPS with 25 homers.

South Side Fireworks Man
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 09:36 PM) As a 23 year old, Viciedo had a .744 OPS with 25 homers. Thank you. I doubt Garcia ever hits 25 home runs in a season.
kitekrazy
QUOTE (Mike F. @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 08:12 PM) I'd let Sale finish this inning and then let the bullpen cover the last two. There's no need for him to go the 8th and/or 9th when there are fresh arms available. Lucky they didn't keep him in and a total of 144 pitches and then Coop defending that. I probably take that as a bet. I think he'll do it next season. LaDunn bobbled it but got an out. Good job Nate getting over there

chitownsportsfan
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 10:38 PM) Damn I forgot about that, made me look foolish lol nah, you look fine. He cherry picked his best stats from his best season. How about his .300 OBA or his wRC+ of of 98? His best season at the dish and he was worth exactly ZERO fWAR. Remember, even 3 years ago .744 OPS was poor for an OF, now it's solid. Viciedo was never half the prospect Avi was. At best Viciedo was talked about as a poor man's El Caballo -- a two tool player at most. Edited August 11, 2015 by chitownsportsfan

To be fair, you said that Viciedo never showed flashes over a season, so "cherry picking stats from his best season" was appropriate.

Viciedo got to those numbers, soemthing you said he never did over the course of a full season. LMAO. 0.0 fWAR would be the best year of Avi's career, so your made up stats would be cherry picked and equal Viciedo Edited August 11, 2015 by Dick Allen
GreenSox
The way 24 year old Avi gets beat on, it's no wonder the Sox dispatch young position players for the Samardzijas of the world and sign the Dunns and Laroches.
GreenSox
QUOTE (Mike F. @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 09:33 PM) Why is Sale still pitching? Because Cooper and Ventura are managing....hopefully for their last 2 months.

It's silly honestly. I'd rather watch a young player with talent then an over the hill strike out king like Dunn or a flat out bum like LaRoche. Hope he keeps it up It all comes down to what he swings at. The other day he swung at every pitch during an AB except one. That was the only.strike, and he fanned. If he makes pitchers trow him strikes, he should be really good, if not, he is what he is. He will always have flashes.
