greg775
Great win for the Jeckyll and Hydes. This team is due to win 4-5 in a row and get to one under .500. That's how they roll.
SCCWS
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 11:54 PM) Sale, Avi, and Nate Jones were the bright spots today. Flowers was also blooming.
Dunt
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 10:54 PM) Sale, Avi, and Nate Jones were the bright spots today. If Nate Jones can stay healthy, he is a nice setup man for Robertson. Slide Montas into the 7th and suddenly that's a pretty scary bullpen. LDF
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Aug 11, 2015 -> 01:06 PM) That's if Montas is ready which he isn't. Not yet. i agree, i still think he needs more pitching reps. if he is going to be a starter, he needs to gone longer innings. rhetorical question more of something to think about. has he ever gone the distance in pitching, what has been his longest innings pitched and how many times??? don't get me wrong, i want him to succeed as much as anybody, but i don't want to be blinded by the excitement of his pitching ability. He isn't even in AAA yet. His command still seems a ways away. His BB/9 is still high, I think he walked 3 the other night in 5IP in AA. Edit: it was only 2 BB. Edit: it was only 2 BB. exactly, some pitchers do make the jump from AA to the majors, i wish i can give you some examples. but the other point is, he is not a finished product. for my baseball uneducated opinion, i can see him having another yr in the minors, maybe AAA. you do make a good point tho
Swingandalongonetoleft
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 09:40 PM) Bombs over USCF tonight Speaking of that, when and why exactly were the pregame/HR/victory fireworks replaced with some dude lighting sparklers and throwing them up in the air? In the past, they used to shake the place when they went off (especially if it was an empty ballpark)- now you might miss them if you weren't looking. CaliSoxFanViaSWside
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Aug 11, 2015 -> 10:00 AM) Last time I was at a game they were still fireworks. ('08) There were fireworks after all the HR's. I heard the big booming loud ones and saw the brigt colored shooting star type just like its been forever. Can see and hear them on the highlights on the Sox website too. Maybe he's saying the quality of the fireworks isn't as good but they seem ok to me. I mean the whole point of that pinwheeled scoreboard is the fireworks.
